Moms on the Internet That I Love

Y’all, there is a lot on the internet. There are a lot of mommy blogs and influencers and a whole lot of just STUFF to weed through. I have worked to curate the corner of the internet that I immerse myself in, and I wanted to share some of my favorite moms on the internet. We are sticking to Instagram here cause that’s my internet of choice these days. Most of the ladies I’m going to share with you do other things AND just happen to be moms … maybe you’ll find some new internet friends. Let’s start!

@thegirlnamedblake – Y’all Blake is a BR girl! She has a branding company called Magnolia Ink and does beautiful work plus she has a podcast called “Confessions of a Crappy Christian.” This lady brings some HEAT in her stories and is a mom worth giving a follow! She embraces grace in all areas of life. She takes BREAKS from Instagram, which is a lesson we could all probably take a few notes from. She even used to be a contributor for this here blog!

@thehomeedit – Let’s be honest, their feed is this curated beautiful closet and pantry organization … but the real good content is in the stories! Clea is a Jewish woman from LA living in Nashville with two kids and her husband who happens to big a big shot photographer. She regularly shares stories will sitting in her closet with the door closed and a glass of champagne (aka hiding from her kids for a moment of quiet). Her kids are hilarious, and she embraces where she falls short as a parent … can I get an AMEN?!

@atcharlotteshouse – Charlotte is the QUEEN of DIY and crafting. I am not. She is a member of Bachelor Nation and she has FIVE kids. Her house is full of bright colors, she regularly has a top knot, and one day I might actually follow one of her MANY tutorials on how to build things … but for now I am going to look forward to her morning “the bus picked up all the kids” dance! Charlotte is super relatable … she loves McDonald’s coffee, she has installed a toilet by HERSELF, she can be found at Home Goods / TJ Maxx / Joann Fabrics on the regular, and she stories while wearing face masks.

@erinhmoon – Erin “the Edge” Moon 100% needs to be your biggest takeaway of this post. Erin is the producer for two of my favorite podcasts (The Popcast and The Bible Binge). She is a pure joy and delight on the internet. She gives out awards for crappy things we have to do as adults. She has an obsession with John Mayer that I relate to on a REAL level. She also shares her bloopers when she makes stories that don’t quite go according to plan! Bonus – there is a house in her neighborhood that has a life size elf on the shelf that is on the exterior of their house YEAR ROUND. Check her “Gnome on Your Home” highlights to catch up on that content.

@lifeisbutadish – Come for the simple, real food based recipes … stay for cooking with Ava (her 5 year old) and the dance parties! Laney is great. I love her stories. She regularly shares “what’s in her cart” when shopping at Costco and Trader Joe’s, she embraces instant pot life, she rocks a top knot, she LOVES 90s rap. All of these things lead me to believe, we would be best friends in real life if we ever met.

The internet is a lot. There is a whole bunch of content and stuff constantly being thrown at us. Every now and again, it’s worth doing a check in to make sure the people you follow and engage with are the people that encourage and lift you up and leave you feeling better about yourself than when you started! The above ladies check ALL those boxes for me! Who are your favorite moms on the internet?!

Sarah Joy Hays is a native of Louisiana and graduate of LSU! She returned to Baton Rouge in 2015 after 6 years living and working in DC. She is a proud momma to an enthusiastic, red-haired toddler and is navigating all of this as a solo parent; fully relying on group texts with other moms, coffee, and Jesus. Sarah Joy, or SJ, has devoted much of her abundant spare time to the Moms on Campus, South Baton Rouge Presbyterian Church, and her newly founded Foundation that will focus on emergency disaster response. She claims to love to read, journal, and cook; but only manages one of the three out of daily necessity. SJ dreams of having a Target collaboration based on coffee mugs and dry shampoo one day… till then she will enjoy running her bakery CounterspaceBR and growing a consulting business!
