We are thrilled to introduce our community to eight new members of the Red Stick Mom team. Each one is a dynamic, warm and inspiring mom in Baton Rouge, and we can’t wait for you all to get to know them both online and in person at any of our upcoming events. Raising kids in Baton Rouge is: wonderful. We have felt so welcomed since relocating here. I love the history, southern charm and the pride of Baton Rouge. It’s a great place to call home.

Her favorite Baton Rouge restaurant: Roberto’s River Road Restaurant

During LSU games you’ll find her: at the neighbors’ house eating delicious tailgate inspired food and keeping an eye on the girls so that her husband and son can watch the game.

Favorite family outing in Baton Rouge: anything outside – so that the kids can explore and run off all their energy. A trip to the local library is also at the top of the list.

Raising kids in Baton Rouge is: definitely an adventure! You get all the conveniences and activities that a big city has to offer with the feel and charm of a small town.

Raising kids in Baton Rouge is: so much fun! I love all the events our city offers, as well as our close proximity to so many interesting places for traveling on day or quick weekend trip.

During LSU games you’ll find her: decked out in purple in gold watching the game
(either in the stadium or from home) with good food, good drinks and good
company!

Favorite family outing in Baton Rouge: In the summer we love going to the splash
park and then stopping for ice cream!

Raising kids in Baton Rouge is: an adventure! With 3 kids so spread out in age, we
are constantly running in a million directions. I love that Baton Rouge has so much
to offer, yet still has the feel of a small, tight-knit community.

Originally From: My parents were military and retired in Rosepine, Louisiana (near the base) so I went to college in Baton Rouge and stayed about 10 years until I moved back to the DeRidder/Rosepine area.

Favorite restaurant: Alexander’s and Chimes

During the LSU game: you will normally find me at home catching the update online for the scores until my little are old enough to attend. Of course, I ensure that they have LSU gear and recognize very early that Tiger Pride!

My favorite family outing in Baton Rouge: my kids love the Children’s museum and any trampoline park is the second favorite

Raising kids in Baton Rouge is: not for the faint of heart but is an experience like no other

Favorite Snowball Flavor: Wedding Cake with LOTS of condensed milk.

Favorite Baton Rouge Restaurant: Sushi Masa or ANYTHING Mexican with a margarita.

During LSU games you’ll find me: For football- In front of the TV with my parents and the kiddos yelling and screaming like we are in Death Valley. For baseball-usually @ the ballpark but if not there I’m streaming the game from home.  Baseball is my favorite!

Favorite family outing in Baton Rouge: I have to say BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo.  The kids love going there, it’s close to home, great exercise and it gets plenty of energy out, you’ll find us there at least 3 times a month!

Raising kids in Baton Rouge is: sweet, unique, and full of southern hospitality and good food.  It’s simply like no other.

During LSU games you’ll find her: Home with my family making an obnoxious amount of “football food” and cheering for the SEC. I’m a Georgia Bulldog…but the Tigers aren’t too bad 🙂

Raising kids in Baton Rouge is … difficult being far from family but full of entertainment for the girls, which I love!

Favorite family outing in Baton Rouge: When the children were younger it was the zoo. Now our outings include walking around Perkins Rowe, catching a movie, and eating.

Raising kids in Baton Rouge is: A wonderful and blessed experience. Our neighbors are like family and we can always find some way to keep ourselves entertained.
