Date Night Bucket List :: Best Restaurants in Baton Rouge
BLDG5 :: BLDG 5 is located right under the Perkins Road Overpass. The atmosphere is all about the details. Each item found in the nook and crannies of this restaurant tells a story, from 1930’s dated leather chairs to the long tables that have made the trek from German beer garden to this very place. This doesn’t even compare to the food. They offer a wide array of flavor infused grazing boards, shareable plates and a drink menu that includes signature cocktails, beer and wine.
Little Village :: With two locations, the atmosphere is wonderfully romantic. You must order the Village Bread for an appetizer, and any of the veal dishes are amazing.
Doe’s Eat Place :: For a great casual date that is sure to please any meat and potatoes lover, stop by Doe’s Eat Place on Government St. Spilt the by-the-pound T-bone steak if you still have room after eating too many of the to-die-for fried biscuits.
Supper Club :: This is not your ordinary supper club experience. Supper Club is all about giving its guest an experience. One that includes artistry and intentionality into every detail. The food and the atmosphere is one that will give way to a memorable date night.
P.F. Chang’s :: Enjoy a date night with Asian flair at P.F. Chang’s. Start your meal with the crispy green beans and split the Kung Pao Shrimp or Chang’s spicy shrimp. The best part about dining at P.F. Chang’s is, thanks to the large portions served family style, you almost always have delicious leftovers to take home.
Stab’s (Central) :: Currently located a short drive away in Central, Stab’s will be opening a new location near Towne Center in 2016. One contributor reports, “the crab cakes are the BEST!”
Roberto’s :: Located along the levee in a quaint Cajun cottage, Roberto’s is a hidden gem, well worth the short drive. We recommend beginning your meal with the fried green tomato appetizer and ordering the Fish En Papillote as your entrée. We love the crab cakes and suggest ordering the nightly special.
Zea Rotisserie & Grill :: Located in Towne Center, Zea’s menu offers a wide variety of dishes and even their own craft beers. Enjoy noshing on fried catfish and the grilled chicken breasts with a side of Thai snap beans and roasted potatoes. And who doesn’t love the fabulous corn grits!?!
Mansurs on the Boulevard :: A favorite place to celebrate special occasions, we recommend Mansurs for its delicious charbroiled oysters.
Louisiana Lagniappe :: If you are looking for a really scrumptious seafood feast, you won’t be disappointed. We love the crab cakes or marinated crab fingers for an appetizer and the Pontchartrain as an entrée. Another awesome tip: during your visit be sure to sign up for the birthday club. To celebrate your special day, you will receive a FREE entrée of your choice every year (who doesn’t love free food?!?).
Magnolia Café (St. Francisville) :: For a fun, budget friendly day date drive out to St. Francisville, check out Magnolia Café. Enjoy live music (and dancing) on the weekends while enjoying daily specials, yummy shrimp pizza or any of their delicious sandwiches and sweet potato fries. They are open Tues-Saturday, 10am-3pm.
Bistro Byronz :: With two locations, a Bistro Byronz is almost always nearby. Be sure to start your meal with an order of the blue cheese chips. We recommend ordering the turkey burger with a side of the blue cheese mac and cheese.
City Pork Brasserie :: This restaurant has the city buzzing for a reason. The food is top quality and so delicious…can we say enough great things about bacon? Be sure to start your meal off with a charcuterie or cheese board.
Gino’s :: Offering delicious Italian dishes, Gino’s has been a long time Baton Rouge favorite. The traditional Italian dish of Eggplant Parmigiana is always a hit.
Waka House :: For lunch or dinner, enjoy delicious sushi at Waka House. Must-haves include: squid salad, grilled salmon roll, Hayden Roll, and the seared tuna roll.
Bin 77 :: We love the dim lighting, intimate, yet casual atmosphere and wonderful menu offered at Bin 77. Be sure to order the hummus, steak and Gruyere flatbread or a burger.
SoLou :: Looking for a place with a modern flare? SoLou Patio Restaurant Bar is most definitely it! Their menu includes well known southern dishes with an upscale twist.
Pinetta’s :: The diverse menu of European specialties and charm makes Pinetta’s a go-to date night spot. Pinetta’s offers a quiet date that is also easy on the budget.
Rouj Creole :: Rouge Creole brings to the table exactly what its name implies. A creole twist to some classics as well as some oh so good Louisiana favorites. Their THE WORLD’S FARE menu brings delicious Creole dishes from around the globe, like the Cripsy Pork Schnitzel Seafood Lasagna.
French Market Bistro :: French Market Bistro is all about their menu showcasing classic creole flare. Not only does the food bring the flavor, but they offer a nationally recognized wine list with over 250 selections by the bottle and 15 wines by the glass to please any palette. This is a no brainer for a Baton Rouge date night bucket list in our mind!
Texas de Brazil :: With a higher price point, Texas de Brazil, is the place to go to celebrate a big occasion. The best part about dining at this Brazilian steakhouse is that you don’t have to make any choices, the price of your meal includes everything, even the AMAZING salad bar (which really is a meal in itself).
Ruth’s Chris :: This restaurant is known for being upscale and featuring a menu that is absolutely delicious, especially their steaks. If you are wanting to truly take advantage of the evening, then this is where you want to go. It is perfect for special occasions.
J. Alexander’s :: J. Alexander’s is a contemporary American restaurant, known for its wood-fired cuisine. It offers classic American cuisine items on its menu. You can’t go wrong with a restaurant that includes all the classics.
Tsunami :: If you love sushi, then you have got to stop by Tsunami. They are known for their amazing sushi rolls and the environment makes you feel like you are living the NYC life with the beautiful view over downtown Baton Rouge.
The food at koi sushi by Lsu is amazing. It’s our favorite place to eat. Can’t find sushi we like better.
