Born and raised in Houma, I have lived in Lafayette and Baton Rouge since 2017. I am a mom, Senior Communications Manager at BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo, family business owner, and on-air at 100.7 Tiger as Bri Lynn! I have three boys named Colston and twins—Rowan and Reeves. I graduated in 2013 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Geaux Cajuns!) with a B.A. in Broadcasting and English. My radio career started in 2011 when I was on the air and held multiple management titles at 94.5 KSMB (Lafayette) and 101.5 WYNK (Baton Rouge). While working in radio, I also worked in TV news and other jobs. Now, I have gone communications with my career, but I still do radio because I love it so much! As a mom who does not stop and wears many hats, I also love fitness, sports, being outdoors, eating out with family and friends, and traveling.
The best thing I will ever do in my life is be the mom of Jack and Jacob. I don’t have all the answers, but I’m learning and trying to be better every single day. Thankfully, I have an incredible support system made up of my parents and friends who cheer me on and pick me up when I trip over life’s little surprises. I love adventures and I’m proud to say I have jumped out of a plane, traveled to Morocco, and collected plenty of stories along the way. When I’m not chasing experiences, I enjoy painting, writing, and volunteering whenever I get the chance. I even try to make it to the gym, though my abs would argue otherwise. I also have a few degrees (including my doctorate) from a few universities. My favorite colors change depending on the day (except orange that I hate), but one thing that never changes is my belief that everything should be celebrated with cake, including half birthdays. I love God and I thank Him every day for the many blessings in my life, especially the two little ones who call me Mom.

Hi, I'm Casey Forbes & I'm married to Derek, and together we have four kids: Bradyn, 16, Leela, 13, Cannon, 12, and Cade, 4. Cade surprised us with an extra chromosome when he was born, which took our lives from blessed to extra blessed. My husband works hard, both at his 9-to-5 and alongside me as I strive to achieve my dream of opening a bookstore, publishing my debut novel, and, when I have time, co-hosting a true crime podcast with my cousin. I grew up in Central, LA, and graduated from Central High School in 2003, Southeastern in 2007, and again in 2017. The need for a creative outlet has always been an itch needing to be scratched, but life hasn’t always allowed for it. Now that I’m in my forties, I’ve finally been able to find the balance needed to make time for my family and scratch that creative itch. I come from a large Cajun family and am relentlessly shamed for my aversion to seafood. Despite that, they are the reason my life is so colorful. Through heartbreaks and heart flutters, they’ve been my biggest supporters and loudest voices of reason, and I cherish every one of them. I’m excited to write about my life experiences as both a mom who needs a creative outlet and a special needs mom!

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, I am, currently, an educator, with a background in advocacy and victim services, and a boy mom of 3 + a fur boy. When I’m not working with students or helping with victim centered causes, I’m spending time with my boys and family, experimenting in the kitchen, in the streets making memories, catching up on some shows or reading. Raising 3 boys after divorce, as a single mom, isn’t for the weak, especially when they are all across the spectrum of age and life: 1 young adult, 1 teen entering young adulthood and 1 kiddo. But I’m doing it with intention, joy, laughter, and with understanding. My goal is to create safe spaces everywhere I am present. My work lives at the intersection of growth, community, and keeping it real, because life isn’t perfect, but it can still be meaningful, beautiful, and worth talking about.
