Being the youngest of three with a pretty large age gap between me and my sisters, I was lucky to become an aunt at ten years old. I suddenly had these two built-in friends who I got to help love and raise and now are in their twenties being WHOLE humans out in the world.
As I grew and became a Mama, seeing my kids’ relationships with my sisters and friends grow made my heart soar. Suddenly there are all of these strong women helping me raise my kids. I think Aunts need all the Cheers!
Cheers to the aunties who pick up their nibblings from school on the days the parents can’t.
Cheers to the aunties who LOVE camping and are willing to take our kids on grand adventures when outdoors just isn’t your thing (or maybe you are like me and bugs are way too attracted to you).
Cheers to the aunties who sit and listen to my daughter spiral about school and drama and offer solid advice.
Cheers to the aunties who offer our kids a safe place to land when life hits them hard.
Cheers to the aunties who can share their life experiences with our kids and somehow they listen a little better when it isn’t coming from mom.
Aunts are a huge part of our village. They show up when are needed and make sure everything is handled and love our kids like their own. My kids are lucky to have the aunties in their life that they do. Cheers to you, Aunties! Keep on loving our babies.
