Get in Touch With Your Kids’ Creative Side This Summer With Studyville
Traditional school curriculums are designed to build certain skills sets in students. Math, science, english and histories… the things you find on standardized testing, ya know? But this excludes a whole aspect of a kids’ development and person. Creativity is a critical component of an individual’s identity. It can be expressed in a variety of interests, hobbies and skills. But outside of MAYBE an hour in a classroom, it is often undervalued in the academic setting.
As a parent, there is a lot of pressure to create a “well-rounded” human at the end of 18 years. But the reality is that many of us were raised in systems that neglected our development in certain areas as well. It’s too much pressure to expect that you can handle all of these areas of your child’s development in-house.
Studyville is attempting to bridge the gap- taking the pressure off of parents while providing opportunities for students’ to grow in a holistic way. Summer provides a valuable opportunity to explore your kids’ creative side! But you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
Enter Art Week at Studyville!
Art Week at Studyville is an intentionally curated opportunity for students to explore and express their unique ideas, interests, thoughts, and emotions.
Studyville has focused on creating a curriculum that will provide an artistic break from traditional academic emphases while stimulating and challenging students to learn, grow and maybe even have some fun.
Art Week at Studyville will provide an opportunity for participants to try new things and explore new potential passions. We hope that kids can experience some freedom in the subjectivity of art, exploring what it feels like to not have to find the “right” answer or follow a formula. This curriculum will promote independent thinking and curiosity as well as collaboration.
Plus, parents need to catch a break too 😅 You can be at ease for the week knowing that your students are entertained, challenged and well-cared for.
Maybe you’re thinking, “This all sounds great, but what exactly will they do at this Art Week?” Valid question. Art Week will include visual, kinetic, and sensory activities such as:
- Painting
- Photography/Videography
- Molding and Clay
- Sewing and Crochet
- Drawing
- Ceramics and Pottery
- Origami
- + More.
Students will meet at Studyville’s Perkins Rowe location for your choice of half- or full-days during May 31st– June 3rd starting at $200. You can find all the details about registration at https://studyville.com/summer/.
This Summer, allow your student to discover new hobbies and engage new parts of themselves as they explore and create. Studyville is here to help create an environment for holistic flourishing and your students’ future success.
