It’s Christmas Already
Well Ladies, I am excited that Christmas is here! I am a New Years Girl, born on January 1st and for me, this is time where I freely express my love, sentimental feelings, goofy dancing and giving without apologies. Now don’t mistake me, because I freely do this already, but for some unknown reason people don’t fully receive and accept my joyous goofy love, random dancing celebrating them and cheerful giving other times of the year. It’s like people have become robots, busy in life emotionless, impatient and rude to the point they think less and less about love, laughter, fun, and giving.
I know its November, but for me Christmas started November 1st.
I grew up in a home where Christmas music was playing during November, and all I can remember is me dancing around the house feeling love, laughing and playing with my siblings while Grandma baked goodies. I also spent a lot of time watching my grams give food baskets to the needy too and seeing their faces light up with joy.
This became a tradition, and it taught me the importance of love, laughter and giving. So here I am in November, Christmas music is playing, baking treats and dancing around the house with my son. I’m planning to do food baskets for those that are in need, hoping to share this tradition with him. One of of my favorite songs is Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee. If you don’t know it, here are some of the lyrics:
Rockin’ around the Christmas tree
Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we’ll have some pumpkin pie
And we’ll do some carolin’
You will get a sentimental feelin’
When you hear
Voices singing, “Let’s be jolly” (ooh)
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Rockin’ around the Christmas tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone dancing merrily
In the new old-fashioned way
I play that song in the morning, dancing and singing, and here comes my son joining in. What a fun-loving time that we get to share and to see that loving smile gets me all warm inside. Yes, I am a love bug who truly loves to laugh. I think that we should all experience this year-round. We should not have to wait until Fall season to be liberated in love, giving, baking, and laughter. When I listen to that song, it brings back memories of how it used to be during Fall season, and it sometimes saddens me of how the world has become so cold hearted.
So, for me, I rather stay like this year-round. Even though I have moments of sadness, discouragement, and disappointments like we all do, I will not stay there that long because I know that there is someone else who needs the love that I have and things that I have to share. And that’s worth dancing and getting all sentimental.
Yay! It’s Christmas! Time to start decorating the Christmas tree!
