Date Night Ideas in Baton Rouge
My husband and I get tired of the same ole same ole dinner out for date night. We have started implementing activity dates. It’s a great way to spend quality time together and have fun making memories. Recently, we went to coffee and played a few morning games of pickleball. Here are some great “activity” date ideas in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas.
Topgolf – This is so much fun, don’t knock it til you try it. Have a cocktail and embrace your athletic side by hitting a few golf balls. Topgolf Baton Rouge is open until 11 pm on weeknights and 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
Cooking Class – There are several options for cooking classes in the Red Stick area- Red Stick Spice Company, Louisiana Culinary Institute, and one I’d love to try- sushi making at Tsunami.
Bowling at Red Stick Social – This venue offers bowling, live music as well as indoor and outdoor seating for food and drink.
Embrace nature with the LSU Hilltop Arbetoreum or Botanic Gardens – pack a picnic and take a stroll around the LSU lakes.
Get your stretch on! Participate in yoga on tap at Tin Roof Brewery and sample a local brew after. My husband used to laugh at yoga, and now he loves it for his back pain.
Axe Throwing at Civil Axe Throwing – What a fun idea to show off your strength and maybe work off the week’s frustration!
Happy’s 5k! When we were childless and living in Baton Rouge, my hubby and I used to participate in Happy’s 5k every Tuesday. Happy’s running club meets at 6:15 at Happy’s Irish Pub downtown every Tuesday evening and runs a 5K which ends back at Happy’s for live music and cold beer on tap. It is such a fun local community to promote being active and social. Walkers and leashed dogs are welcome.
I love thinking outside the box when it comes to date night. While a romantic dinner is always nice, it is fun to mix it up and throw in a new activity that you both will enjoy.
