Mom Prom: Bahama Mama Recap
Let’s just say that Friday, May 13th was a lucky night for us all! We were able to get away for delicious food and adult beverages completed with shopping and dancing at Mom Prom! The ambiance was tropical, the air was breezy and our beautiful venue was filled with lots of lovely moms who make what we do all worth it. It’s truly one of the best things in the world to mingle with other Red Stick moms in our Baton Rouge community and catch up with new and familiar faces. We send out a very special thank you to Guichet Creative for the beautiful graphic design work for this event!

We couldn’t have been happier to have our Mom Prom event here for the second year in a row. The Main Library is lovely, spacious and perfect for any event. They are extremely accommodating and have so many convenient options to offer. As usual, the staff was incredibly helpful and we are always impressed to see the behind-the-scenes hard work that goes into making programs for children and adults in our community a success. We are so grateful for all of the resources that our library offers to the greater Baton Rouge community.

Kismet Cosmetics was back again this year to show ladies their hot signature lipstick colors, body bronzer, nail polish and amazing illuminator! Caitlin, owner and creative behind Kismet, was able to match colors to skin type and made the experience complete with their very own photo back drop! When do we ever get the chance to take our time with makeup? Needless to say, everyone was rocking some pretty lips!
The Massage Emporium joined us again at Mom Prom to give moms the most amazing hand massages! Their amazing team set up two stations in a quiet area, which allowed guests to really relax, even if it was for a moment. By the end of the week, this was much needed and so appreciated!
Air Blow Dry Bar brought their curl game again this year! In just a few minutes, guests had their hair jazzed up and looking fab! We can never learn enough about how to perfect the perfect beachy waves! If you can’t be at the real beach, Mom Prom is second best.
European Wax Center joined us for the first time and we saw many moms taking advantage of the brow bar they offered! Guests were treated to an eyebrow waxing if they wanted and even learned some great info about how to get those brows #onpoint!

Parker Madison Designs set up a beautiful display of jewelry that included unique beaded bracelets, necklaces and earrings. All items are handmade with love and the guests were enjoying shopping! They also did beautiful St. Benedict beaded bracelets for VIP bags. Moms loved the wine they provided, which is always a welcomed treat!
Cake Face Soaping joined Mom Prom to show their amazing line of body products for women, men and baby! Their products are 100% naturally, handmade with love and make great gifts for anyone. The wine they provided was a much appreciated perk to visiting their table!
Bra Genie displayed a couple of their gorgeous bathing suits! Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes…they have just what moms need to fit their style and budget. They also served up delicious Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiris!
Associates in Pediatric Dentistry was on hand to offer lots of complimentary goodies and visit with Mom Prom guests! They also were happy to answer any questions moms may have had about the wonderful dentistry services they offer for children.
A special thank you to Harb’s Oasis for providing the BEAUTIFUL greenery and the pink flamingos that you saw throughout the entire venue! They really set the tone for the evening.

We had some really tasty selections for food this year! Our sponsors really brought their best out for guests to try. Everyone really enjoyed the variety of bites and delights that were offered.
Whole Foods joined us again this year with an amazing “refresh station” which included sushi bites, fresh fruit, veggies, fruit-flavored water and more! Everything was so delicious!
Newk’s Eatery brought the most delicious salad topped with chicken and lobster bisque! It was such a treat PLUS they served up some yummy wine…which we can never have enough of!
Zoes Kitchen brought their famous Mediterranean bites that included roll-ups, salad, hummus and their delicious Hibiscus tea!
Cupcake Allie is ALWAYS a treat! They joined us again this year to display the most beautiful mini-cupcakes..complete with flavors like margarita and death by chocolate! We are always up for the most delicious cupcakes!
Java Mama Cafe & Indoor Play served up delicious chicken salad bites and their famous Javacinos which we were told were very loved! Not to fear, you can always head there to grab one to cool you off this summer while the kids play!
City Gelato was such a wonderful addition to the perfect weather we had! The flavors couldn’t be beat from a signature “Bahama Mama” flavor to an Italian Cream Cheese…they were simply divine! We are so happy we can find them around town for the summer!
