A Mom’s Day / Night Out in Downtown Baton Rouge

First off, let me start by saying…DO THIS! It was the most refreshing and refilling 24 hours of my life! I had mom guilt leaving but when I returned, I was a better wife and mom because of it!

We started off the morning with coffee and beignet bites at The Vintage. It was such a charming atmosphere. It’s a coffee and alcohol bar with tables and couches and a very modern, retro vibe. The king cake latte was delish and we had tasty beignet bites to go with it!

Next up, the Redstick Farmer’s Market. It is FULL of fresh produce, spices, and places to eat, kind of like a mall kiosk but with restaurant-quality food. This would also be a great outing with the kids!

Then we went and got pedicures! How much fun is it to go relax with friends while someone pampers you! We talked and laughed and had the best time!!!

Next up, we went to Olive or Twist. I HIGHLY recommend the bottomless mimosas. There is nothing better than your glass never being void of a mimosa. We tried 3 different menu items-all delicious! We got a table quickly, and the service was great!

We then came back downtown and checked into the Watermark Hotel where we lounged around and just talked and laughed. There were no kids licking the windows or playing with the phones. No one slammed doors or hit each other. No yelling or fighting. It was pure ecstasy!!!! We then decided we’d get up and fix our hair and change outfits! And PAINT THE TOWN RED!!!!

We started the night at Rio Tacos and Tequila. The food and service there was great! I got the fish tacos, and they were delicious. The margaritas were wonderful as well. It was a quiet and quaint place. 10/10 will go back!

Last, we ended up at Boudreaux and Thibodeaux’s to dance the night away. There was a band, True Spin! So. Much. Fun. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast.

I left about an hour before my friends and went back up to the room. I showered and got into bed. Alone. Quiet. It was a peace I’ve never known!!! If you can get away for the night, leave your duties and get you some self-care and love! 15/10 recommended!
