Happy Father’s Day!
It’s time to celebrate the dads. These are the first men we ever love. They show us love, how we deserve to be treated, and they showed us the world.
I would like to talk about my father: Dr. William E. McHenry. His other name is “Pawpaw” to the boys. My dad is from LouAnn, Arkansas. He comes from a wonderful God-fearing family. My dad recently received the Presidential Award for Excellence for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering mentorship.
But I think he’s more proud of being a dad and grandfather.
My father is my hero. He is the most amazing man in my life. My dad is one of the happiest, patience, and positive people I have ever met. I’m not sure he’s ever had a bad day.
Whenever I’m having an “Igor” day, I can call my dad and he’ll point out the silver lining. I’ll admit sometimes those storm clouds are dense. But he always finds a way.
My father is honestly one of the best men out there. His love knows no depths. He works hard to show us unconditional love. I couldn’t even imagine the number of sacrifices he’s made to ensure the best future for my brother and me. He manages to find beauty in the absolute situations. I’m beyond thankful that he’s my father. He is my number 1 supporter, whether I’m choosing a new degree to get or excited about a new art piece l’ve created, he’ll be right there by my side just as excited as I am.
I want my father to know that his presence in my life means… everything.
I wish there was only one word to describe what his presence has meant to me but there really isn’t. It feels great knowing that he’ll be there to support me through all of my trials and tribulations, even if they are ones I created.
I love you Dad!!
