It’s hard to believe, but Red Stick Moms Blog was founded six years ago, in early Fall 2013, with the goal of providing moms in and around Baton Rouge with timely, relevant information and the chance to connect online and off. When we purchased Red Stick Moms Blog from its Founder in early 2016, we were excited to bring everything that we had learned as the owners of New Orleans Moms Blog to the Baton Rouge market with the same mission of being the premier parenting resource for Baton Rouge parents. We are humbled by the overwhelming support we have received over the years with our events such as Donuts with Santa, Moms Night Out, and the Easter Egg Hunt. We continue to receive great feedback regarding our online resources; if you don’t already know, we publish dozens of comprehensive resources like the Ultimate Summer Camp Guide, Need to Know monthly activities, Open House Guide, Photography Guide, and Birthday Party guide. We also value the 5,000+ members in our local neighborhood groups which provide another avenue for local moms to connect.
You may have noticed that we have not announced a date for our annual Moms Night Out event in 2019. This year, we decided to put a hold on the event and focus our energy on bringing some exciting changes to our website. Though the brand has a new official name and website, our mission remains the same.
Red Stick Mom’s mission is to serve as the city’s premier parenting website and most reliable resource for local families. To do this, we publish relatable and authentic content, as well as plan, market, and execute exceptional family-friendly events that connect our community of parents with each other as well as with brands we can’t live without. We meet moms and businesses where they are today and empower them to thrive in the future.
We believe these changes will give you, our readers, the best experience by making the website more user-friendly. It has been revamped to function better on mobile, and the search feature should make it easier to find 6 years’ worth of content. We will continue to provide our monthly guides, online resources, in-person events, and neighborhood groups. We are also looking forward to our next event, Donuts with Santa.
Red Stick Mom will provide you with the same resources and events that you’ve come to value, offered by the same women who brought you Red Stick Moms Blog. As we’ve continued to grow, it may seem different, but our roots remain the same.
