Prehistoric Park is known as Louisiana’s premier dinosaur themed destination. It recently re-opened on November 8th, 2024 and has some great new features! The park has new dinosaurs, a dinosaur trail, an updated dig pit and interactive activities! Prehistoric Park is perfect for children (and adults) who love dinosaurs, learning about history and science, and spending time outside!

Here’s what you need to know before visiting Prehistoric Park ::

Attractions 

The breath-taking attraction is a dinosaur trail with life-sized dinosaurs towering along the guided path. With 24 NEW dinosaurs added ranging from 6 feet to 46 feet in size, your dinosaur loving kids will be in awe. There are even roaring animatronic dinosaurs that come to life! Your science or history loving crew will love learning about these larger than life creatures with information located throughout the dinosaur trail in a perfect blend of education and adventure!

Additional attractions include a playground and fossil dig. A few paid attractions are available as well – stuff-a-plush activity, pucker powder, fossil gem mining, glitter tattoos, and gift shop purchases.

Day Rate, Location & Hours 

Prehistoric Park is located about 42 miles from Baton Rouge at 1145 North Barn Road Breaux Bridge, Henderson, LA 70517. With a car ride just about 40 minutes in length, it’s an easy trip to take.

The park is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9 AM – 5 PM. The park is closed Monday-Thursday so be sure to plan your trip!

Day Rates are as follows:
Adult: $14
Child: $10
Senior: $12

Special Events 

Prehistoric Park is now open again after launching a soft opening, however; a full grand opening event will take place Dec. 14, 2024 complete with dinosaur themed food, activities and a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Since the soft opening, Prehistoric Park is open once again for the Christmas Trail this holiday season. The Christmas Trail is open every Friday & Saturday beginning Nov. 30th – Dec. 21st from 6 PM – 9 PM. With special holiday lights strung throughout the path, Prehistoric Park becomes the perfect place to add a little holiday cheer!

And if you have a dino-loving kid, Prehistoric Park is also available for birthday parties! Host a thrilling birthday party or field trip surrounded by life-sized dinosaurs, interactive exhibits, and a fun learning experience for all ages.
