Maybe you’re a wait till January 6th kinda family, maybe you’re a GET IT OUT kinda family. Either way, Christmas is done and we’re here to help you recycle those trees and help Louisiana all at the same time! We’ve got the how, when, and where below!
First and foremost:
– REMOVE all ornaments and decorations
– Take it out of that tree stand
– Do not use a tree bag
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, here are your options for East Baton Rouge and Ascension areas.
East Baton Rouge
Curbside Pickup
Place undecorated trees loose at the curb 3 ft. from the garbage cart and unbundled trash.
When your normal “large trash” is picked up so will your trees. Tree recycling will run from January 7-19. Trees may be picked up on non-scheduled days.
For more information.
If you prefer to drop off your Christmas tree, you can bring it to the following locations from December 26 to January 10.
-
- Liberty Lagoon Water Park
- Highland Road Community Park
- Scotlandville Parkway
- Zachary Community Park
- Plank Road Park
- Flannery Road Park
Trees must be natural, and unflocked, with all decorations and stands removed. Trees will not be collected for recycling curbside by Republic Services.
Ascension Parish
Officials will hold a drop-off event from Saturday, December 28th until Sunday, January 12 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center, located at 9039 St. Landry Road. The drop-off location will be the unpaved parking area on the left side as you enter the main gate.
Let us know if we missed any and get those trees recycled!
