A Day At The Beach That Won’t Break The Bank
Are you like our family and just not ready for summer to be over? One last trip to the beach may be just what you need…and you don’t have to take a long road trip or stay overnight! In just about an hour and a half and around 87 miles from Baton Rouge, you could have your toes in the sand at White Sands Lake Day Beach!
The beach that’s located in Enon, La (outside of Franlinton) has everything your family needs for a day of fun in the sun! The water is a cool, clear, spring-fed lake. There is a fabulous aqua park filled with inflatable water slides, trampolines, floating mats and more with areas designated for kids. There is something for everybody at White Sands Lake! If you have older kids in your family, they’ll love the kayaks (doubles rent for $15 per half hour and singles rent for $10 per half hour) and stand up paddle boards (they rent for $10 per half hour) that are available for rent. There’s beach volleyball as well if you want to play a friendly game. Life vests are also available for rent for just $3, which is required for all guests under 12 and highly recommended for everyone.
With the heat we’ve been experiencing, shade is a must!
You can rent a cabana, which includes a picnic table and BBQ grill or you can bring your own tent, chairs and portable grills. There are concessions available (the pizza is delicious!) or you can bring your own food, coolers with drinks (no glass bottles) and snacks.
The beach has changing rooms, restrooms and outdoor showers available as well.
This day beach makes for an amazing day away from the hustle and bustle without breaking the bank. Admission is just $18 for those 12 and up, $12 for kids 3-11 and kids under 3 is free! If you love it as much as we do, you may want to consider season passes and if you’re going with a large group, group rates are available. Our family has made a trip to this beach an annual tradition for all of our cousins that the kids look forward to all year long!
