Worth the Drive: Shopping & Selfies with Santa at Canal Place

Back due to popular demand, Selfies with Santa returns Saturday, December 7 from 12-3 p.m. Santa will make his grand entrance by ringing his reindeer bells and descending the 
iconic glass elevators before taking his seat in front of the 40-foot-tall Christmas tree. While you wait for your turn to snap a selfie with the jolly man himself, Sugarplum fairies and Santa’s helpers will spread holiday cheer while families enjoy a free gourmet cookie. Selfies with Santa is a free holiday experience.
Every Saturday at 12 p.m. throughout December, Prytania Theaters at Canal Place will host Movies with Santa featuring holiday favorites like Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Polar Express. Tickets are $10 each and include admission, popcorn and a fountain drink.
New this year, Brasa South American Steakhouse will host Santa’s Brunch Saturday, December 14 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The family-friendly event will feature a custom menu, bottomless mimosas and festive photo opportunities with Santa.
Canal Place will ring in the sounds of the season with live entertainment from classical and jazz trios and duos Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. and lunchtime guests can enjoy choir performances from local on select days.
