A MUST Visit :: Amour Cafe and Co.
Do you like coffee, books, waffles? What about a fun aesthetic and a chill vibe? Or maybe you prefer Espresso Martinis? Well I’ve found the place for you! Amour Cafe & Co. is the newest coffee shop to open in our area, and it just may be the cutest.
Located on Hwy 42 near the new Prairieville High, Amour Cafe & Co. is a locally owned and operated coffee and more shop. They have some of the most unique and interesting coffee offerings I’ve seen. Not only that, they have some truly unique food pairings too.
What and Where
I randomly learned of this new coffee shop while scrolling Facebook and knew I had to stop. I made my way there one Friday afternoon, the week they opened in January. Then our local Silent Book Club had a meeting there later that month, and I made my second visit.
Located in a strip mall on Hwy 42 just past Rouses sits Amour Cafe & Co. Don’t let the strip mall setting fool you, the inside manages to be fun, cozy and welcoming at the same time. The vibe emanates from the staff. The day I was there, it was a family affair with both the owner and her daughter making drinks and waffles and chatting to customers. When I walked in, I felt it was like I was transported. The hustle and bustle of the outside world went away and I was in a place with my favorite things, coffee and books. They offer several speciality coffee based drinks. The drinks are tasty, creative and fun. Just a quick glance at their photo album will leave you intrigued and wanting to head that way to try out something new.
Waffles and Unique Options
Why do I keep mentioning waffles? Well, they make waffles in addition to having other pastries, but the waffles are a unique option. The cafe offers several flavors and combinations to pair with your coffee. On both visits I had a variation of a berry waffle, and they were so good! Not to mention adorable.
Another unique spin on the traditional coffee shop is the fact that Amour Cafe & Co. also has a bar and plans for unique drinks. Espresso Martinis for after work get together or how about a lemon drop or a mojito. Those drinks are in the works too.
