Chee Chee’s Playroom :: A Must Visit Near Prairieville

As summer was coming to a close and we were gearing up for our first, first day of school I was looking for a party venue for my oldest. We had been to parties at so many places in Baton Rouge and had great times at all of them.

I checked out the Red Stick Mom Party planning guide, but I was a bit late on booking a venue and had to seek out some alternatives. I turned to Google. It was, well, challenging to sift through those results and honestly, I’m not sure how I even came upon Chee Chee’s, but I’m so glad I did!

It was July and we needed a party venue in about a month. The new location wasn’t officially open yet, but there was an option to be “penciled in” so I took it. Luckily the location would be open in time for my 4, going on 5 year old’s party.

What You Get

You may be familiar with Chee Chee’s Playroom, formerly Cheeky Monkeys, from their location in Central. We had never been there as it was a bit of a drive from our home. I reviewed the party offerings and it seemed too good to be true!

They do it all for you. Seriously, I had no stress for this party and I’m usually super stressed for my kids’ birthday parties, but that’s another post.

You get the whole place to yourself for 2 hours this was one of the biggest draws for me.  We have a now 5 year old, but also a 2 year old and some younger party goers and there was no worry. The beautiful new location is just for you and your party. No need for worry or constant vigilance as it is just your people there. The fee not only includes the facility but also a party host and up to 20(!) kids and an unlimited number of adults. There is also a safety gate to keep kids from going to the front door, and to keep shoes off of the play area floor.

The Play & The Party

There were play places for kids of all ages. Soft play and climbing, Legos and a supermarket, ride on toys and giant building blocks. The kids of all ages played in all of the areas. The location is spacious and bright. The party area was large with ample seating for all of the adults and kids. The play area had comfy couches for the adults.

Other Benefits/Add-Ons

The hosts did all of the setup and, best of all, all of the clean-up. They set up all of the décor we brought. There was a pre-party form and a phone consultation prior to the party to ensure we were all on the same page. They offered several colors for table cloths and they were all set up when we arrived. They provided cups, plates, utensils, ice and water. They had knives to cut and serve cake and a freezer to store our ice cream.

We were able to bring in some of our own food, but could have ordered pizza, ice cream or drinks through them. (they even offer a coffee bar…). The party hosts set up the items we brought as well. Chee Chee’s Playroom offers so many optional adds from food to fun. Want a balloon drop to celebrate your birthday boy, or a nerf battle to engage your birthday girl? It’s an option. Busy and can’t do much decorating/planning you can even rent a birthday backdrop.

One feature I did use was the customizable pre-made digital invitations. (Just be sure to double check the address.) It was perfect to send to the class GroupMe and then text or email to family.

The Review

Direct quote from my kiddo, “I had SO MUCH FUN!” The kids were able to just be kids, to run and jump and play, or play quietly. We had tiny guests and kids up to age 10 and they all seemed to be having a great time. The hosts were amazing at keeping us on schedule and were never pushy. They were so kind, helpful and polite. In the end, we had a successful party and the joy on my 5 year old’s face was so worth it! In the end, I was glad I stumbled upon Chee Chee’s Playroom and booked the party sight unseen. It was a great time and mom and dad weren’t exhausted at the end!
