Don’t miss Magnolia Mound’s annual Creole holiday event! The race will begin at 8:00 a.m.
There is no charge to be a pancake cook. Please be ready to prepare about 200 small pancakes with a propane griddle. (ELECTRICITY WILL NOT BE PROVIDED).
Exhibitors’ booths are also free but are required to provide refreshments, giveaways worth at least $1, or a family-friendly activity. You must also provide your own tent.
Pancakes with Santa and Mrs. Clause at Barn Hill Preserve
Saturdays and Sundays between November 18th and December 17th, 9am-11am and 11am-1pm
Pancakes with Santa and Mrs. Clause at Barn Hill Preserve is a perfect chance to snag holiday photos with your kiddos and Santa. The event will feature a petting zoo, crafts, wagon rides, a letter to Santa, and much more. Tickets are $25 a person and children under 2 years old are free.

Celebrating its 38th year, the Turkey Trot returns to Downtown Baton Rouge on the morning of Thanksgiving 2024. This race is a local thanksgiving tradition – one that serves the community by keeping them active and fit through racing and by partnering with the March of Dimes as a fund-raiser to help their organization financially and by spreading the word about the work they do.

Celebration in the Oaks in New Orleans

City Park’s largest fundraiser, Celebration in the Oaks, is THE New Orleans holiday family tradition. The 3rd annual Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade will take place in downtown New Orleans Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, starting at 11 a.m. The event, which has been nominated as a Top 10 holiday parade among USA Today readers, is back with a longer route and signature throws.

Get into the holiday spirit with Zoo Lights at BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo, presented by Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health! Wander through a magical wonderland of twinkling lights and animal encounters. The zoo is open from November 29th to December 30th (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).
Admission gates open from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and grounds close at 9:00 p.m.

- Zoo Members: $3 per person
We are partnering with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank again this year! During Zoo Lights, every guest presenting a non-perishable food item will receive a 50% discount from the regular admission price. All food donations will go directly to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. In 2020, just over 7,000 pounds of food were collected during this drive.
Come to the zoo to enjoy a trail of thousands of dazzling lights around the zoo for a cherished family holiday tradition in Baton Rouge.
On Fridays and Saturdays before Christmas, Zoo Lights will feature visits from Santa Claus at the Otter Cabin!

Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival

Beginning in 2015, Island View Casino & Resort and The City of Gulfport collaborated to bring a Winter Holiday Festival to the Mississippi Gulf Coast unlike any other holiday show in the State of Mississippi. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realises there is one way to gain peace and quiet. With help from Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all.
