Le Chien Brewing Company :: Local Fun as a Family

I don’t know about you, but we’re always on the lookout for some unique, fun, family experiences that don’t break the bank. We found one in a kind of surprising place, a brewery. Located in Denham Springs, Le Chien Brewing Company is a family, and pet, friendly craft brewery. This place feels like a hidden gem that shouldn’t be hidden!

A few years ago I was scrolling social media one day and I came across a children’s book reading. It sounded like a fun, free, activity for my young kids. As an added bonus it was located at a Le Chien Brewing Company, it seemed like a good way to try some local craft beer, support a local business and get out of the house. We decided to give it a try and are so glad we did!

Where and What

Le Chien is a craft microbrewery located in the antique district in Denham Springs. They have incredible craft beer for adults. They also make their own craft root beer for adults and kids. An added bonus is that they have a food truck, Pie Eyed, on their property “slingin piez” as they often say on social media.  The food truck offers both sweet and savory food options. They even have a kids menu! There are some events/nights when kids eat free with an adult entree purchase. Another great, but adult only offering, is their brunch. We were able to find a baby sitter and check it out one Sunday. We had a great time.

Family Friendly

Le Chien, means “the Dog” in French and the brewery is open to the whole family, 4 legged family members included. The great thing about this brewery is all of the family friendly activities they offer. We found it because of the children’s book reading, and have also gone to a family day with a petting zoo and pony rides. There have been visits from the Barnhill sloths and other animals and even a dinosaur show. We’ve also gone on a random, non-event Saturday for a low pressure family outing.

If you’re looking for something different to do check out Le Chien.

They have events often, including trivia nights and a run club. They have some adults only activities if you’re looking for a girls night or a place for a date. We love to support local businesses and especially love to give our kids and our dogs new things to do and try. Follow them on social media to stay up to date on all of their events.
