Rediscovering My Sense of Self and Purpose :: I Found Me!
Have you ever experienced a time when you truly did not recognize who you were? You would wake up in the morning, while brushing your teeth and looking in the mirror, thinking “girl, what happened to you?” Life is what happens: we are all consumed with being a mother, wife, sister, friend, coworker, and even a business owner, that sometimes we lose our sense of who we are. Not only that, but we also put everything we desire on hold to make sure that everyone else’s dreams are fulfilled. We have all disconnected from our true selves, and our value, purpose, passion, dreams, and desires.
As a Life Coach, many of my clients struggle with just that. Knowing who they are, what their purpose is, what they are passionate about and what truly matters to them. Before I became a life coach, I struggled too with knowing who I was, what my purpose was in life. I felt unworthy, not valuable and my dreams were fading away. All because I was doing what was best for everyone else except myself.
Until one day, doing life coaching training, I was tasked with a self-discovery questionnaire. And it changed my life.
I also used this tool with my clients. It has helped them rediscover their sense of self, purpose, awaken their dreams and passions that they had long forgotten. I would like to share a few of them with you. These questions pulled out my weaknesses, strengths, and true identity. It has helped my clients reprioritize their lives and giving them balance while pursuing their dreams.
Self-Discovery Questionnaire:
- Do I like the person that you are today?
- What makes you unique?
- What are your core values?
- What is your biggest regret?
- What is your Ideal daily routine?
- What do you admire about yourself?
- What is holding you back in life?
- What are your biggest strengths?
- What are your weaknesses?
- Why is everyone more important than you?
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I learned that self-discovery help you understand values, strengths, weaknesses, and improves your mental health. It cultivates a deeper understanding of your desires, improves your self-esteem, and helps you identify your purpose, wants, needs and passions in life.
