Let’s Stay in for Valentine’s Day
Let’s face it, we are living in a very face-paced world. With that everyday hustle and bustle, we all need to outsource as much as can. Work, chores, tasks, dishes, laundry all pile up faster than you can even create a plan to reduce the load. So as Valentine’s Day approaches, it goes without saying that you now are faced with another task on the “to-do” list. Add this to the constant fluctuation of COVID rates, and what is one to do. Let’s just STAY HOME! There are several ways to make this Valentine’s Day memorable without the risk of large crowds.
Here are my top five Valentine’s Day at home Iideas:
Hire a Private Chef
This is where you may be asking “How do I hire a chef for the perfect dining experience?” Hiring a private chef for Valentine’s Day is not only a unique idea, it also allows you to sit back and relax while avoiding crowds and the stress of cleaning up or even dressing up. Now with the current pandemic, you also don’t have to worry about the social distancing practices of your favorite restaurant. By hiring a private chef, you have full control of your budget and the date (because who said you HAVE to celebrate ON February 14th?). My favorite is Chef Odom who may be found at Odom’s Kitchen.
Dinner and a Movie In
Give the kids their favorite foods and maybe a special snack, and then send them off to bed. Order your favorite dinner using a food delivery app, put on your favorite snuggly socks, rent a movie, and prepare your favorite drink.
Sundae Bar
This one involves the kiddos. Create a snack board and sundae bar with your kids and spread out on the floor picnic-style. Put on your favorite movie … and enjoy! (This can also be done with your mate.) Make a board and then everyone sits on the living room floor and eats picnic-style while watching a movie. Ice cream sundaes with all the fixings afterward. The kids will love it.
Prepared Valentine’s Day Packages
Check out your local grocery store boutiques. Many of them such as Fresh Market have prepared Valentine’s Day packages.
Bubble Bath
That’s right. Send the kids and partner to bed, light your favorite candle, and soak in your favorite bath time rituals (mine are found at Buff City Soap). I like to add a little Kenny G to the mix and try not to fall asleep.
