The Ultimate Guide to a Baton Rouge Family-Friendly Valentine’s Day
Newsflash: Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be just about romantic love! In fact, it’s the perfect opportunity to shower our loved ones – kids, spouses, parents, and friends – with affection, attention, and most importantly, FUN! It doesn’t have to just be candy (cough cough boys).
Think about it: when was the last time you did something truly fun and silly with your family? When did you last laugh together, create together, or just plain enjoy each other’s company? (Admittedly, I did just roll down a hill with my boys before school.) Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity!!
This Valentine’s Day, let’s ditch the fancy dinners out and overpriced flowers, and instead, get our kids (and our inner kids) involved in some good old-fashioned fun! Maybe make a fancy dinner with your kids. Garnish the hamburger helper with something fancy and make a mustard squiggle on your plate. Instead of buying flowers, pick them together. My sons, Jack and Jacob, have made the most beautiful bouquet of flowers for me. Even though they were weeds, I was happy.
