Waiting in Love
Do you find yourself waiting for something in frustration, doubt, fear, and anxiety? Whether it is an answer to a prayer, promotion or raise, career, new baby, a relationship, new vehicle or financial miracle, the hardest and dreadful thing to do is wait for it. I spent many nights pacing the floors doubting and crying only to still be waiting for it the next day.
I even tried to reach out to family and friends, and they would say wait with expectations or keep the faith it will happen and even God’s Holy word tells us in Habakkuk 2:3 “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Thou it tarries, wait for it, because it will surely come. It will not tarry.”
Day after day, I found myself crying, anxious and emotionally drained because what I was waiting for was not coming fast enough.
I was so consumed with getting my hearts desires that I totally forgot about being a mommy. Have you ever been distracted with getting something you know would change things for you and your family only to have to wait for it? That’s why this wait for me was very hard. Until one day, after praying, I heard “wait for it in love.”
And then the burden was lifted, I had a new perspective and did just that – wait in God’s love. I spent more time with Him and reading His word that spoke of His love and how much He desires to give us what we are waiting for. Then purposefully spent time with the ones I love and showing them love. Doing things that I love like sitting by the lake, cooking and even listening to love music. I also would watch Hallmark movies to end my night.
Then all of the frustration, fear, doubt and anxiousness went away, allowing me to wait in peace, confidence and expectation. And I was sleeping like a baby, and waking up in Joy, ready to begin the day with hope.
The power of God’s love not only lifted the burden but also filled me with a new hope and expectation that exchanged my crying to laughter and fulfilled my hearts desires.
So the next time you have to wait remember these scriptures ::
Psalm 143:8 “Let the dawning day bring me revelation of your tender, unfailing love. Give me light for my path and teach me, for I trust in you”.
Jeremiah 29:11 “I know all about the marvelous destiny I have in store for you, a future planned out in detail. My intention is not to harm you but to surround you with peace and prosperity and to give you a beautiful future, glistening with hope.”
