Our 2nd Annual Spooktacular Playdate at Lil Bambinos Playtorium {RECAP}

Disclosure :: we were thrilled to host our 2nd annual Spooktacular playdate to kick off the Fall season in Baton Rouge, and none of it would have been possible without our amazing community sponsors: Lil Bambinos Playtorium, Rapid Urgent Care, Matilda Jane–Jessica Charrier, Twinkle Entertainment, Chef Jeremy Coco, Clean Creations, Zoes Kitchen, Thee Heavenly Donuts, Crave Macarons, Cherliyn Haines Photography, The Photography by Tricia Eaton and McMains Children’s Development Center

We were so happy to see familiar faces and NEW faces for our second Halloween event. All of our littlest guests (and even parents!) showed up in their finest Halloween attire, and we must say the costumes were way too much fun. As soon as they hit the door, the kids were ready to play! There were lots of fun and age appropriate activities for all Baton Rouge kids to enjoy, including climbing the jungle gym, playing with building blocks, grocery shopping, jumping in the bounce house, and even a human sized brite lite.

Thank You To Our Wonderful Host :: Lil Bambinos Playtorium

We did it again with the great help of the staff at Lil Bambinos Playtorium! This is a mom-owned business in Gonzales, and when we say they have thought of just about everything lilbambinosto entertain the kids, that’s a fact! Activities include everything from sliding, jumping, crawling, reading, building blocks, trains, putting on puppet shows, grocery shopping and more! We highly recommend looking at this playtorium for your next Baton Rouge birthday celebration, or you can check their calendar to see available days and times to bring your family to play!

Thank You To Our Community Sponsors

We were so excited to have Rapid Urgent Care join us for this event. They showed up with goodies galore for the taking! As parents, we know how important it is to have options available to us for excellent care for us and our children. We were so happy to welcome Matilda Jane–Jessica Charrier. I think we were all drooling over the absolute cuteness that she brought for moms to shop. From tunics to lunch boxes, there was lots to enjoy. Thank you so much to the uber talented Debbie McAdams of Twinkle Entertainment. Her talent as Twinkle the Clown and a balloon artist is incredibly impressive. We always enjoy having her join us!

Thank You To Our Food and Beverage Sponsors

There was no shortage of delicious food and beverage, that is for sure! Clean Creations brought a healthy twist on a yummy treat by providing a yogurt bar filled a variety of toppings including berries, nuts and chocolate chips. Chef Jeremy Coco brought it to another level with our moms by serving up some delicious gumbo. He even took it out on a tray to serve to guests as they watched their children. Zoes Kitchen never disappoints with their chicken salad and pita bread. A nice added touch was their refreshing Hibiscus tea and Limeade. Now let’s talk about those donuts … Thee Heavenly Donuts brought their a-game with an adorable display and decorated donuts. The kids LOVED them. Crave Macarons … what more can we say other than we are now constantly craving these melt-in-your-mouth macarons. From French Toast to Wedding Cake, we were smitten and *some of us* couldn’t stop visiting this table.

#RSMBgivesback ::

As with all of our Baton Rouge community events, we choose a charity to give back to the community. We were very excited to partner with McMains Children’s Development Center, whose mission is to work collaboratively on speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy for their patients. Thank you SO much if you were able to donate items for such a great cause. Over 800 art supply items were collected and the staff was thrilled to have help with their art program.

Thank You To Our Photographers ::

Thank you so much to the photographers that were on hand to capture all of the fun. We highly recommend Cherilyn Haines Photography and The Photography by Tricia Eaton!

Ericka P.
Ericka is originally a New Orleans gal who was raised to begin many dishes with a roux. Since 2011, she has happily embraced the Red Stick life with her husband of seven years, Tyler. Although she met her husband at an LSU game after her car broke down, they both attended Northwestern State University where she graduated with a Business Administration degree. After graduation, she and Tyler took a leap of faith and tied the knot. She dabbled in the corporate scene but eventually returned to school to pursue her passion for teaching and earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. She taught at an inner-city school in Baton Rouge for 3 years where she gained a family of students and colleagues alike. She’s traded in her beloved Expo pens and clipboard to stay home with her sweet and adventurous one-year-old son, Cullen. She is so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the sisterhood of fellow moms. Motherhood has been the best roller coaster she’s ever been on and even at the most challenging times, she tries to remember to embrace the chaos and “bless this mess” mentality. Ericka loves a good conversation, coffee, empowering other women {because we can all use a little encouragement}, laughing, baking and making memories with her family.
