And just like that the Christmas holidays are upon us. Goodbye spooky décor and hello round the clock Christmas music, Eggnog, and Little Debbie Christmas trees at the grocery. It’s time for hot chocolate by the fire and Hallmark movie nights. All is merry, bright, and peaceful – right? Insert eye roll here if you are a mom. The holidays are a time to celebrate, but often bring along the added stress of long to-do and don’t forget lists. To all the moms out there, I see you. It is so hard to see our kids sick. We just want so badly for them to feel better and feel better quick! So what is our instinct…rush to the doctor. However, most of the time this is unnecessary and actually could make them sicker. Let me just say, that this is in no way an anti-doctor post. Not only do I love our pediatrician, I know when she tells me my children need something, they really need it. My hesitation to go to the doctor is mostly not even them. Sure you have the doctors who prescribe an antibiotic for every little booboo or run unnecessary test, but most doctors do love what they do and love helping...

I Need My Husband

Ok, hear me out, I don’t need my husband for the reasons you’re thinking. I don’t need him to take care of me. But I need him in my life, no doubt.I need my husband to be my partner in raising our tiny humans. I need him to help make hard decisions for them. To be a sounding board and a supportive being when things aren’t going smooth. I need my husband to sleep next to me every night. I need him as a partner in our marriage. I need his support and his advice. I value his advice and trust that he has my best interest at heart. I need my husband’s sense of humor. No one can make me...
My husband is a carnivore, he wants meat with every meal. I, on the other hand, can be completely happy with a week of meatless meals. I don’t particularly like red meat and one can only eat so much chicken before you’ve just had enough. Over the years, we’ve worked in some meatless meals that we can both agree are tasty and filling.  Here are three meatless meals that are on the menu in our house and a couple of bonus soups. I think soups are great meals, but my husband says we have to agree to disagree on soup as a meal. These meals are also toddler approved, despite or maybe because of, ingredients like quinoa, couscous and lentils.  This...
Growing up, I wanted two kids. One boy and one girl. When I met my husband, he wanted three kids, and we agreed that was what we both wanted. Well you know, life and God had other plans. When we tried for our second child, we found out we were pregnant with twins. When I delivered the twins, I knew in my heart, I was not done. Three years later, we had our fourth baby. She was everything our family needed and more. We are truly complete with two boys and two girls. I have loved kids my entire life, I knew in Elementary school that I wanted to be a pediatrician (once I learned just how much education...
