BREC has so much to offer to the Baton Rouge community! Did you know that they offer art classes? The Baringer Art Center was established as BREC’s art hub located at BaringerBarginger Art Center Tea Time Class Park. This is an art center that is like no other! The Baringer Art Center believes in the importance of creating a safe place for the creator: art is fun and there are no set boundaries when it comes to individual creativity. There should be artistic freedom and creativity over the end product when it comes to creating art.

Baringer Art Center Offers Free and Paid Classes

Baringer Art Center offers free as well as affordable classes with professional artists for all ages: 3 years old and up. There are affordable paid classes offered on Monday mornings. These include Mono Printing, Gelli Plate Printing, Sketchbook and Collage classes which are designed for learning skills that will enable them to continue creating their own art. 

If you are looking for art classes for children ages 3-5, then Studio 3, 4, 5 is just what you BREC Baringer Art Center Studio 3,4,5are looking for. These classes are created to kindle the excitement of creating art at a young age along with parent involvement. Another great class offered to children is their Loose Ends program. Loose Ends is an after-school program available 2x a month. It is created for kids to bring the creative world of art to them after school hours as they unwind from the school day. These classes vary from week to week and are only $10 per child.

Are you looking for a class made just for adults with a fun twist? Art UnWined is an adult class that brings the fun of creativity along with the availability of adult beverages. In these classes, you will sketch out the drawings yourself and have the freedom to pick any color when it comes to painting. No restrictions when it comes to this art class. The perfect way to un-wine with creative art!

Another one of the free classes offered at Baringer Art Center is held on Fridays. This free opportunity allows adults to stop by the Baringer Art Center to receive help and advice Baringer Art Center Art UnWinedfrom available professional artists. An Art Event You Don’t Want to Miss Out on: ArtsFest@Baringer Park

Baringer Art Center is excited to host their first ever event for the public. The ArtsFest@Baringer Park will be held on March 11th from 5p-8p. You have never seen an art festival quite like this one!  The Baringer Art Center wants to showcase the importance of individual creativity and the freedom of creating art. There won’t just be acrylic and watercolor painting, but also multiple different artists who are all excited to show you their world of art. These amazing artists include a toothpick artist, wax painter, taxidermy, coffee foam art, a potter making pottery on a wheel,  macrame, henna, and Japanese Ikebana. 

This is not all. The Baringer Art Center is making sure that there will be something for everyone at their ArtsFest@Baringer Park! A sidewalk chalk contest for both kids and adults, multiple stations that bring the fun of not just make and takes, but interactive activities. What better way to bring art to life! You can choose to sit and watch live demos inside the Baringer Art Center or enjoy the interactive activities on the outdoor grounds, all while enjoying classical music played by classical musicians. Food and drinks will also be served if you become hungry or thirsty while engaging in all the interactive art activities. ArtsFest at Baringer Park 2023

Clair
Clair is a former science teacher turned stay at home mommy to 3 kids, Ryleigh (6), Brady (5) and Chloe (1). She is originally from Mississippi and moved to Louisiana after meeting her husband at Mississippi College. She can’t imagine living anywhere else now. The culture here in Louisiana is the best: from the great food to cheering on the LSU Tigers. Her background in science has her loving to incorporate all things science while at home with her kids.
