Dinner on the Run :: Family Style To Go Meals

Most of us are living life in the fast lane which leaves minimal time for cooking. Are you struggling to find healthy, balanced meals while also taxiing children around in the evening? Below you will find delicious and affordable family meal options with little to no prep work!

  1. Cowboy Chicken

Cowboy Chicken offers family meals for 4 or 6 people. Meals include rotisserie chicken, brisket, or a combination of both with sides. You may also choose either bread or chips and salsa to go with the meal. The meals range in price from $29-$46. Cowboy Chicken offers an enchilada family meal for those wanting something different from the traditional rotisserie chicken.

2. Izzo’s Illegal Burrito

With multiple locations throughout Baton Rouge, Izzo’s is the perfect place for a meal on the run. Izzo’s family fajita pack includes steak, chicken, fajitas, and all the fixings. Said to serve 4-6, I have found the meal to stretch a lot farther. The meal is priced at $54.95. Plates, serving, and eating utensils can be added for $3.95 making a meal with no mess to clean! Grab the meal on a Monday to save a few dollars. The family fajita pack is priced at $48.95 every Monday. Izzo’s also offers convenient online ordering where you can order ahead and schedule a convenient pickup time.

3. Jambalaya Shoppe

The Jambalaya Shoppe also has multiple locations throughout Baton Rouge for convenient pickup. The family meal includes jambalaya or pastalaya with white beans, green salad, dressing, rolls, plates, and serving utensils. The small family meal feeds 5-7 people and is priced at $39.95. Not in the mood for jambalaya, try the gumbo family meal which also serves 5-7 people. The meal includes gumbo, rice, potato salad, rolls, bowls, and utensils. The small gumbo family meal is priced at $42.95.

4. Maxwell’s Supper Club

Supper club emails are sent out every Sunday with the menu for the week. If you would like to order the meal, you must respond to the email by 2pm the day before pick up. Meals are prepared on different days depending on which location you choose. Meals to serve 2 are $30, and meals to serve 4 are $52. Click here to sign up to receive supper club emails. 5. The Fresh Market

This meal does not fit in the to-go category; however, it is one of my go-to meals. Each week Fresh Market features a different Little Big Meal at an unbelievable price point of $25. The Little Big Meal is advertised to serve 4. I cook this meal almost weekly for my family of 5. The meat portion is usually generous, but the sides can be a bit small. If your family has big appetites, you may need to supplement with additional sides. You can check the meal each week on their website or by clicking here. Each Wednesday, the meal is changed.

My family has indulged in each of these meal options on multiple occasions. We all agree that they are equally convenient and delicious. Will you try one this week?
