What Makes hampr Different?

While other laundry services exist, we find that hampr really hit the nail on the head with what moms want … which should be no surprise because it was designed by a working mom. hampr offers flat-rate, no-nonsense pricing that’s based on how many loads of laundry are required, not how much your laundry weighs. Who really wantsto worry about how heavy their clothes are anyway?!

The first step is beyond simple; it entails downloading the app and purchasing a hampr membership, which is an annual fee of $39 total. The initial membership fee covers 4 custom-designed hamprs that are used to complete the service. The hamprs make laundry math easy peasy, as ONE hampr = ONE load of laundry, and ONE load of laundry {picked up, washed and returned to your doorstep} is $10 total. Note :: if you have 3 loads or less in your order, the delivery fee is $2.99. If you have more than 4 loads, there is no delivery fee. You do NOT have to be home for a hampr pick up or drop off; hampr will gladly come to your place of work if preferred.

Once you purchase your hampr membership, your 4 hamprs show up within 48 hours. Then, dump your dirty laundry into hamprs, sorted into loads as you’d wash them, choose your pick up window {morning, lunch or evening} and kick back and relax. You are now in the hands of an expert washr.

Who’s Washing My What?

One of the most brilliant aspects of the hampr brand is that it creates meaningful jobs right here in Baton Rouge. hampr has dozens of washrs {that’s not a typo!}, the amazing individuals who pick up, wash and return your clothes. Think of washrs as your personal helper, someone willing to do YOUR laundry in their home on their own time … but within about 24 hours. washrs use their personal washing machines and dryers, as well as Dropps detergent, a scent-free, dye-free detergent that is safe for you and the planet. Your dirty laundry will be returned to your doorstep (or place of work, whichever you choose) washed, dried and folded the very next day. Not to worry either; all hampr washrs are thoroughly background checked and their laundry equipment is indeed vetted. You are in safe hands with your washr. 

hampr members are responsible for separating their laundry before it goes into their hampr(s). Then, the washrs will dump the contents of each hampr into their washing machine. It is totally your call and comfort level with regards to whether you include intimates in your hampr. Since the laundry gets dumped, we recommend checking all of those pockets and zippers to ensure nothing is left, as well as having your laundry sorted into hamprs exactly as you’d wash it yourself.

The other nifty thing is that hampr’s damage policy will indeed cover missing items up to a certain amount. Pay careful attention to what goes into your hampr and always double check what’s returned to you. It’s also wise to only send hamprs full of items you’d wash in your own home; if you wouldn’t wash and dry it at home, don’t ask a washr to do your – ahem – dirty work.
