Our Favorite Halloween Movies {For Little Kids}

I absolutely love Halloween for the pageantry, the mystery, and the element of surprise. When you’re experiencing Halloween with your littles and want a movie night, it’s important to find movies that everyone will enjoy. These are some of our favorites:

1. Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo!

This movie is fun and suspenseful. It’s fun to guess who is the guilty party and to explain why.

2. PAW Patrol: Halloween Heroes

We’re a family that just recently discovered Paw Patrol and we love them. This movie doesn’t ruin the magic of Halloween by explaining everything but won’t have you up at midnight trying to figure anything out. It’s about the Paw Patrol being the heroes that they are solving Halloween mysteries.

3. Ghostbusters

We watch this movie in pieces. It’s because of this movie we learned that tires were originally white until carbon was added turning them black. So there are opportunities to ask questions while relaxing and enjoying it. But keep in mind this is a big kid movie.

It’s about a group of men that help people with their ghost infestation. They mainly get rid of the bad ghosts.

4.  The Nightmare Before Christmas

I absolutely love this movie. Jack is my favorite character. The visuals are incredible. The story is amazing. But it does deal with a lot of bigger kid themes.

It’s a love story that transcends the grave.

5. We Have a Ghost

Anthony Mackie is one of my absolute favorite actors and he’s from Louisiana!!! Also, his wife’s name is Melanie and he has 2 boys like me so I really love it. It’s a story about a family that movies into a haunted house and that makes them really grow together as a family.

6. The Addams Family

Can you have Halloween without the Addams Family? I love Morticia and Gomez’s relationship. It’s about a family that exists outside of the societal norms.

7. Matilda

I love Roald Dahl. He was one of my favorite authors as a child. Matilda brings the magic of the book to life. It’s definitely more kid-friendly.

These are some of our favorite Halloween movies. Grab some popcorn and cuddle with your littles while you watch. What are your favorite Halloween kid-friendly movies? For a list of all Halloween movies on all the platforms, read here!
