Printable Love Bug Valentines

winter-and-snow-13-14-5812Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and for those of us who don’t have our valentines bought just yet, I hope that this printable will help get you excited–and even make it easier on you! This year is the first year that Judah is in a full-time daycare, so I’m excited to have so many valentines for him to pass out to his friends.  As a boy mom, I couldn’t resist creating my own spin on the popular “love bug” idea and arming him with a bag full of gummy worms to distribute.  But I also was sure to supply a page in there for you girl moms and your ladybugs who want to jump on the love bug train too!  And if candy isn’t your thing, then you could even head to the dollar store and put in a few fake insects instead.

Inside the printable, I provided a line for you to personalize it with your child’s name or message.  You only have to enter it once, and the rest of the fields will appear when you click off the box.  You can print all the pages or just one–the choice is up to you!

I used 3 x 4-in. cellophane bags from Hobby Lobby, but you could even staple these to the mini gummy worm bags themselves or fold over Ziploc bags. Print, cut, fold, and staple–that’s all you gotta do!

However, for those of you who would like to further personalize your child’s valentines, you can also save the jpegs below to your computer (right-click then “Save Image As”), insert them in Word, and use a favorite font of yours in a text box.

There are so many ways that you can manipulate these files, so I hope that you have fun with them!  Now, the real challenge will be not to eat all the gummy worms before they make it into the bag.  I can’t make any promises!

Jenny lives with her husband, Joel, and their sons, Judah and Jonas, in Zachary, a suburb north of Baton Rouge. She works part-time as an editor and her favorite part of the week is when she gets to exchange her pencil skirt for yoga pants and pretend to be a SAHM for a few days. When she’s not toting her sons around town or saving her toddler's life one head dive off the couch at a time, she is designing invitations, stationery, and logos for local moms, brides, and professionals. Jenny’s been married since 2007, and she and Joel welcomed Judah into their lives in April 2012 and Jonas in March 2015. She loves to squeeze in as many date nights as possible and spends her free time chronicling her family’s adventures and recent designs on her personal blog, the Gilberts.
