Restaurant Review {Our Team Dinner at Grimaldi’s Coal-Brick Oven Pizzeria}

Disclosure: This event was sponsored by Grimaldi’s Coal Brick-Oven Pizzeria

Delicious, authentic and superb service: that is what we look for in a great dining experience! A few weeks ago, our team braved the soggy weather to head to the new Grimaldi’s Pizzeria located at the Mall of Louisiana. We were so glad we did!

Upon arriving, we were happily greeted by the staff and taken into the private room where we had a nice long table to accommodate our growing team of moms. Our server quickly took drink orders as the chairs started to fill up. We began with a mixture of fresh salads including the Caprese Salad, Caesar Salad and Grimaldi’s House Salad. Let’s just say those didn’t last very long…they were yummy!

It was so nice to relax and get to know our newest team members while our wonderful server kept on top of things. Our coal fired brick-oven pizzas started to make their debut. Grimaldi’s offers three different customizable types of pizzas including traditional, white with garlic, and pesto. We tested all three and put our seal of approval on them. As the conversation kept flowing and the pizzas plates were emptied, we couldn’t help but leave room for one more important part of the evening…dessert. We were treated to the Dessert Trio, which included their house-made cheesecake, Cannolis and Tiramisu. Wow. They were all amazing!

We soaked in the charming ambiance that is reminiscent of “Little Italy” complete with checkered tabled clothes and wine bottle light fixtures. From their starters, pizzas, desserts and extensive wine/beer selections, Grimaldi’s has a little something for everyone in the family. Here’s an extra that we love: they even give pizza dough for kids to enjoy while waiting for food to come out! Overall, our trip to Grimaldi’s was a success, and we can’t wait to go back.

Have you tried this new, family restaurant?

Ericka is originally a New Orleans gal who was raised to begin many dishes with a roux. Since 2011, she has happily embraced the Red Stick life with her husband of seven years, Tyler. Although she met her husband at an LSU game after her car broke down, they both attended Northwestern State University where she graduated with a Business Administration degree. After graduation, she and Tyler took a leap of faith and tied the knot. She dabbled in the corporate scene but eventually returned to school to pursue her passion for teaching and earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. She taught at an inner-city school in Baton Rouge for 3 years where she gained a family of students and colleagues alike. She’s traded in her beloved Expo pens and clipboard to stay home with her sweet and adventurous one-year-old son, Cullen. She is so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the sisterhood of fellow moms. Motherhood has been the best roller coaster she’s ever been on and even at the most challenging times, she tries to remember to embrace the chaos and “bless this mess” mentality. Ericka loves a good conversation, coffee, empowering other women {because we can all use a little encouragement}, laughing, baking and making memories with her family.
