Remember when we didn’t want to grow up because if we did, we couldn’t be a ToysRus® kid? Well, Total Wine is the TOTAL fix for that. If you know anything about Louisiana, you know we love our libations. The only thing better than finding your favorite spirits in the local grocery store is a SPIRIT MALL! Yes, I said it. Total Wine is the Grown Up ToysRus®, the Happy Hour Mall. And wait, you don’t even have to schedule your trip around your kids because Total Wine totally has curbside pickup. Don’t let the name fool you, Total Wine totally has everything. Think cheese, hard liquor, snacks, mixers, you name it!

I will also admit that upon entry of any Total Wine for the first time, you may be just a little overwhelmed. So, follow me for a moment on a trip through Total Wine Baton Rouge. Let’s start by saying “grab the shopping cart!” Now depending on what your preferences are, you will either take a sharp left to explore every wine you can imagine, or you will head to the aisles closer to the back for stronger spirits. I am convinced that the buyer for Total Wine has to have one of the most exciting jobs around. In order to give them credit for truly finding the rarest gems in the liquor cabinets around, please take the time to peek inside of the glass cabinets. They truly have all of the “NEW NEW” Mommy Drinks!

Now that we have gotten the most obvious out of the way, let’s talk about the lagniappe!  Yes, this store has lagniappe. The staff is ready to greet you as soon as you walk through the door. Not only do they greet you, they are ready to help you. I mean truly help. Meaning if you can’t make it to the store and you have to send your husband with a list, they will help him find the right things. The recommendations will have you creating reasons to give the gift of wine and bourbon!

The customer service really deserves to be singled out.

My friend says it best, “Total Wine is the Chick-Fil-A of adult beverage stores.” Then, there are the classes. You can literally take classes on how to be your own mixologist. This screams MOMS NIGHT OUT!! If you haven’t figured it out yet, you can spend an entire day in Total Wine.

Did I mention the tasting area?

There is a whole area just for tasting. Just take a look at the “event board” and you will see all of the upcoming tastings and events. Even if you are tasting a high end alcohol, they won’t try to upsell you. The recommendations truly are based on experience and not price tag.
