First off, let me say that I feel so “boujee” for having a housekeeper. I usually don’t tell anyone about her. I’m slightly embarrassed that I cannot handle it all. We changed our budget to be able to afford it and I will happily not go out to eat as often to keep her!
I am a momma of four little ones, 6 years old and younger. Life is chaotic, to say the least. I could never keep my head above water. I could not juggle all of the things and I felt like my kids were suffering because of it. They weren’t getting fun time mom, they were getting stressed out, anxious mom.
The housekeeper comes once every other week...
Have you ever driven down Bluebonnet Boulevard all the way until it ends? Bluebonnet turns into Coursey then George O'Neal and at the very end of an unassuming road is, in my opinion, a little tiny slice of Heaven on Earth. Here you will find the home of the Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center. More famously, here is the home of Sister Dulce, our local healing nun.
Who is Sister Dulce?
Sister Dulce is a well sought out nun and healer. From near and far, people travel to the prayer center for hope, healing, and to find peace during times of great turmoil. The mission of Cypress Springs reads as follows: To offer a place of healing and evangelization where God's...
When did the norm become filtering our lives down to only the perfect details to brag and show off? To get the approval of others? Scrolling through perfectly curated feeds being influenced to buy outfits that make us match every other girl out there? Do NOT get me wrong, I LOVE a good blog just like the next girl. But I think I am finally exhausted of it all. I am worn out of looking at sales that are not sales, beauty products that might not even work, and a filtered snapshot of what seems to be a perfect life.Yes, I know, “instagram is only a snapshot,” and I’ve seen the “instagram Vs reality” posts. We all read about bloggers going...
Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson made her way back in the news a couple of weeks ago. While I’ve never watched an episode of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," I do know the basics:
Her mother encouraged her toddler to be all kinds of sass in front of a camera.
There’s sexual and substance abuse in the family.
People love laughing at the nonsense that was paraded by the family to the public.
Reading Alana’s recent “Her Name Is Not Honey Boo Boo” Teen Vogue interview made me fairly emotional. Sure, firstly, from the perspective of a mom watching a young girl fight for her dignity back (DID WE NOT LEARN OUR LESSON FROM BRITNEY, PEOPLE?!), but also from the...
To the moms that tiptoe across the house in hopes they can get their first sip of coffee in before seeing a kid, I see you.
To the ones who set their alarms earlier and earlier each day as the list of morning to-do’s grows, I see you.
I see you.
This is the first year I started school with a child of my own at home. I wear a new hat - MOM. I am a wife, a teacher, and a mom. All three jobs requiring an outpouring of love, understanding, patience, lots of energy, and constant smiles.
To say all went well would be a lie. There were a lot tears from me, from my son, and from students. There were...
