Every year, we love celebrating Easter and one of the things that makes it so special is when family comes to visit. The day before our youngest son was born, several grandparents came to stay with us. We went to church, did lots of fun Easter activities, and the next morning we met our new baby! So when I think about Easter traditions, grandparents are a huge part of them.
I am a traditions girl, but on holidays I like to keep some family traditions, while also adding a little something new and fun each year. We always go to church and have a big lunch with traditional Easter lunch food, but I like to have other fun activities available...
Disclosure :: our second annual Easter Egg Hunt was sponsored by a group of wonderful community partners. IDEA Public Schools, Ascension Party Rentals, and East Baton Rouge Parish Library made this successful event possible. We are so appreciative of the time and effort that was allocated from each sponsor to make sure this event was fun and safe for our Baton Rouge families! Our sincerest gratitude is extended to all of our generous sponsors who worked along with us to bring you this incredible event!
Thank You To Our Title Sponsors
Thank you so much to our fantastic title sponsors who truly helped make this event possible! We are incredibly grateful to the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library for providing us with their indoor venue. Also, we couldn't have an egg...
Valentine's Day is almost here, and there is some counting down going on over here. I am not so much on receiving Valentine's Day gifts: flowers, chocolates, and cards. Don't get me wrong here. I do love my chocolate and flowers, but Valentine's Day is so much fun when celebrating it with my kids. This Valentine's Day Foaming Hearts Activity is the perfect addition to our Valentine's Day festivities.
I try to make a day out of this holiday. Yes, I am cheesy with pink heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast and all.
All About Those Hearts
Valentine's Day cannot be celebrated without some sort of heart shape included. This activity is one that shouldn't be ignored. It only takes 3 simple ingredients and...
Author’s Note :: To ensure accuracy, I acknowledge that the written song lyrics do not state “black Jesus.” That said, many students including my own daughter were visibly confused by the dialect. The lyrics also do not change my own personal sentiments about the Duck Dynasty brand, which in my view is riddled with racist overtones and other cultural issues. My hope is that my experience and perspective opens a dialog regardless of the literal lyrics on paper.
So This Is Christmas?!
Today I took off of work for a couple hours and proudly set off to support my daughter (my middle child) in her school Christmas program. I sat with the other parents excitedly watching my mini me interact with...
As soon as December 1st comes around, I immediately turn into a crafty DIY person. I’m normally not that big into arts and crafts; I mean, I can barely draw a stick figure. But nonetheless, I pretend I’m an artist and have at it. This year especially makes me excited because Maverick is at the age to want to get into everything ... especially when it comes to arts and crafts. So I figured why not let him indulge a little. Sure I assisted a little, well a lot, but he still loved every minute of it. We’ve even started painting on brown paper to wrap the Christmas presents with this year!
The only things you need for this project...
