That said, not all of Red Stick Mom’s mom hacks, tips and tricks are about fixing food or mom’s self care. Maybe you are looking for a better way to store your family’s precious photo memories. Have you ever wondered what to do with the cupcakes that your kids inevitably didn’t finish? You haven’t really lived until you’ve tried “recycle cake.” We even get intimate with other topics like why every mom should try period panties and the value of a nursing cart when there’s a newborn in your home.

I haven't read a single news report about the Cincinnati Zoo gorilla incident, in which a four-year-old boy climbed a barricade and fell into the zoo's gorilla enclosure over Memorial Day weekend. I also haven't watched the video of the event, and I refuse to (just the thought of it is enough to give me nightmares). So I don't know who's right or who's wrong, if the mother really is to blame, or if this was a freak accident that could have happened to anyone of us. But I've read plenty of opinions about this event on Facebook, and I've got one thing to say about it: enough with the mom shaming, already! In some ways, I get it. An innocent animal...

Despite the fact that both of my children eat a pretty wide variety of foods, my 4-year-old daughter enjoys dragging meals out for what sometimes feels like an eternity. Her reason behind the desire to make dinner time about as long as a professional sporting event remains a mystery. The agony of getting her to eat a decent amount of food within a reasonable amount of time has become one of the most dreaded...
Ah yes, the child who hates being in the car. I know I am not alone -- many of you have experienced vehicular wrath in the worst form. If you've never had a child who hates being in the car (oh how I envy you), let me just tell you it's pure TORTURE. First of all, you can't reach them to console them. Secondly, you're driving a moving vehicle and have to, ya know, drive. Thirdly, you can't get away from the screams (due to the whole moving vehicle thing). If you have other children in tow, they'll eventually start crying too either due to being awoken by the initial crier or they can't take it anymore or they just want to...
