Let's break it down.
A waitress walks around her restaurant offering samples of a new lemonade they just started offering.
You see, the boss told her if she offers the lemonade to as many people as she can, it’s more likely she’ll find a few who love the lemonade and keep coming back for more. The more that come back, the more money the restaurant makes…and this means a Christmas bonus for the waitress.
The waitress really needs this job. It’s out of her comfort zone, but she’s willing to give it a try. How hard can it be? After all, she really loves lemonade.
She approaches your table.
“Hello. Would you be interested in trying our new lemonade? It’s so good, and...
It is past time that someone says it, so excuse me while I stand on top of my soapbox and scream it from my backyard: "Are you a CHEERLEADER for the other women in this world or are you a RIVAL?"
Will you help build the next generation of strong, proud, kind amazing women or will you help another decade of women hide their talents and passion for fear of being bullied and tormented? I have so many mixed emotions and feelings about this topic, but one opinion always stands out: SUPPORT your fellow woman, especially if she is your friend.
I want to ask you a question here (and please answer honestly). How often have you been in a conversation...
I recently read this quote talking about living in the moment and how we all need to embrace life and live. Typical feel good quote to look at and scroll on past.
But for some reason, this one stuck out and hit me in a different way. I lay in bed that night thinking about how I was (or really wasn't) living my life. Blame it on COVID and spending day in and day out doing the same things. With nowhere to go and having everything around me being canceled, I had been feeling sad for myself. Sad that when there was something to look forward to this year, it wasn't happening. But that night it clicked with me that...
When I found out I was pregnant, I immediately started to watch my words. Not swearing around children seems to be a widespread social agreement, so my first instinct was to repress any bad words. I even looked for a chart to help me with that. On a normal day, I don't really say that many curse words, but sometimes it is the best avenue to express a feeling or an idea. Excitement, frustration, joy, grief, or even love. Think about it. Cursing can be a tool, and like any tool, it needs to be practiced to be well applied.
Today, what keeps me up at night is not that my son will say a bad word in an inappropriate...
We are seeing companies, celebrities and influencers alike release statements announcing the firing of individuals or shutting down collaborations after comments, actions and old social media posts have gone viral. And while some of the actions these companies and individuals are taking is appropriate, I wonder if #cancelculture has gotten a bit out of hand...
I know. I know. Hear me out.
For those who were not malicious in their words and actions or did not realize their actions could lead to unintended harm or consequences for someone else, why not allow them a chance to educate themselves, their followers, their fellow peers? Why not show the world people can change for the better... become better people and allies? A single...
