Dinner Party Delivered: Using Indie Plate to Cater Your Next Party {Sponsored}

indieparty5Simple, fast, easy: that is what so many moms strive for on a daily basis. Whether it’s diaper changes or dinner arrangements, we just want to get the “chores” done quickly so there is time for the fun and joy of LIFE! The last time we introduced you to Indie Plate, the new online grocery store and delivery service for the Baton Rouge area, it was clear that their goal was to make life simpler in the grocery department.  When they asked us to try out their service to plan and cater our next contributor meeting, we were all for giving it a try. Could a dinner party be simplified when it comes to feeding 10+ people?? We surely wanted to find out!

Each quarter, the Red Stick Moms Blog team gets together for an evening to discuss the blog and what’s in store for the upcoming months.  It is such an awesome time for us to chat and just be laid back (with no kids pulling on us), and we definitely love to show our team a little love by treating them to a nice dinner with plenty of dessert.  We knew Indie Plate already for its fresh and local products. We knew that they buy directly from local farmers and artisans to provide their customers with the very best. We knew they have a ton of specialty items and a variety for all different diets.  And the best part, we knew we could plan and execute the entire party in our PJ’s, at our computer if we chose! Yes, please!

As I scrolled through their website, I began adding items to my cart that I thought would be great party choices: salsas, dips, and cheese spreads would be great for appetizers.  We found a delicious corn and shrimp soup and salad options that would make a perfect entree’. And then desserts…it was so much fun to pick those out! They deliver local cupcakes, cake balls, pies, chocolate mousse, gelato, cannolis, and more! We chose a variety of options in a variety of flavors.  And I got to do this all in the comfort of my home, in my own time.

Once everything was added to my cart, I set my delivery day for the day of the party.  They offered a ton of delivery choices that would fit anyone’s schedule, but they once again reminded me that if I couldn’t be home to just leave out an ice chest and they would fill it up! Again: easy, simple, and fast.  Was this too good to be true? Could a dinner party really be this effortless to plan and execute?

The day of the party arrived, and once again Indie Plate did not disappoint. Everything was delivered to my door at the time I had specified.  Every item was neatly packaged.  Every cupcake in perfect condition. Cold items still cold. It took me about 15 minutes to get all my appetizers and extras transfered to my own serving dishes.  I followed the included instructions to begin warming up the soup. And then, I just sat there and waited for my guests to arrive! No trips to the grocery. No running around to 5 different specialty stores to get all the extras. No lines. No transferring in and out of my car.  Simple.

Our dinner party was a hit with the team! All of the food was delicious, and we loved getting to taste some new, local products that we had never tried before. (I think we fought over a certain salsa!) I loved that, as the host, I truly got to enjoy the dinner along with everyone else.  Moms, if you are wanting to try something new, something local and fresh, and something simple and easy, then don’t hesitate to give Indie Plate a try! Just think what this could do for your next get-together or birthday party?!  (To read more about all they offer, check out our first post here.)
