From Hot Mess to Hot Mom

If you’re a mom, you know how difficult it is to not look like you just rolled out of bed. With 4 little ones, it’s almost impossible to get out the house without someone’s bodily fluids on me somewhere. Before kids, I was the person that did not go anywhere without makeup or my hair fixed. After kids, well, I laugh at that pre-kid self … A LOT! Over the years, I’ve done my best to get her back. I feel so much better and more confident when I have a little make up on and my hair doesn’t look like rats live in it! So I’ve compiled a list of things that help me look a little less hot mess and a little more hot mom! I hope you can relate and enjoy these things!

Permanent Make Up:

This was an absolute game changing, show stopper for me! I got permanent eyeliner after my twins were born and it saves me sooooo much time on my make up routine. If there are days that I don’t get to put on make up or I just forget, I still have some color on my eyes! Usually, my make up routine consists of some under eye concealer (for the chronic dark circles), a little mascara and some lip stick. BAM … 5 minutes and I look less mombie!

A Good Moisturizer and Anti Aging Serum:

This! Keeping your face moisturized makes all the difference, and of course, all moms need some “de wrinkle” help!Moisturizer and anti-aging serum

Leave in Conditioner and Dry Shampoo:

I wash my hair about once a week. When I wash it, I use Rusk smoother, a leave in conditioner that I use in my hair. It will keep your hair smooth and sleek for days. Cuts down on frizz and makes it shine! Next, a good dry shampoo is hard to find! You have to try a few out to get one you love! I will attach a picture of my favorite. I have natural red hair, so sprays usually don’t work well in my hair. My favorite is a powder; I sprinkle it in the night before, fluff it around with my fingers, and sleep on it. The next day, I brush through my hair and run the blow dryer through it – JUST LIKE NEW!leave in conditioner

Blow Drying Brush:

The Revlon Blow dryer brush is where it’s at for me! If you want a quick dry with lots of volume, it will be your best friend! When I’m done using it, it looks like I’ve paid for a blow out! Also, it cuts the drying time of my hair in half!!!! If you don’t have one, RUN, don’t walk!Revlon Blow Dry Brush

Straightening brush:

I have a Head Kandy straightening brush that allows me so much freedom. I can sleep on my hair wet and wake up the next day and straighten it with this brush in under ten minutes!!! It’s amazing!!!!straightening brush

Curler:

A good curling wand or device is a MUST. I love my beach waver curling wand – it’s automatic and it’s so user friendly! My other favorite curling device is my Mira queen! You put your hair in, it sucks it up, leave it until it beeps and let go! Instant curls! The curls I get with this will last me days!!!!

Good Pair of Jeans or Leggings:

This kind of goes without saying. Find you some good jeans; I love Old Navy’s Rockstar Jeggings. They are pull on but look like real jeans. I also love Fabletics leggings, high waisted everyday leggings to be exact! If you are looking for more of a budget friendly legging, Amazon Essentials has some around the $20 range and I love them too!

Headbands:

Headbands can take a messy bun from drab to fab in seconds!!! Find some you love and get them! Get some neutrals and some fun prints!!! They will help any hair style look just a little more put together.

Earrings:

Girls, never underestimate a good pair of earrings!!!! If you really want to look fab, get you some hoops! Hoops spice up your look so well and they are an automatic confidence booster! Don’t believe me? Try it!!!!!

Lipstick:

Find you a good neutral lip stain that looks barely there with a touch of color. On days where you aren’t all dolled up, it won’t look out of place but it will allow some color on your face. There are a few that I love and will post a picture below: Limelife, Younique and Maybelline.

Try some(or all) of these things out and let me know if it makes your life a little sweeter!!!
