Fromage Blanc :: The Best Cheese Dip Appetizer

Fromage Blanc :: What’s That?

If you’re hosting and need an easy dish or if you’re invited out and need an easy transport dish – are you always thinking, “OMG WTH am I going to bring?!” Well, I got you! This is quick, delicious and you’re guaranteed to always leave with an empty crockpot!Fromage Blanc :: What's That?

It only has three ingredients! THAT’S IT!

  • 2 blocks of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • 1 can of Rotel Tomatoes
  • 16oz of Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage

And it’s pretty quick too. So, if you’re hosting – it’s one of those things you can leave on and tend to your guests or other things. I always cook the breakfast sausage the night before and store in the fridge. That way, the next morning – I can just dump it all in my crockpot and let it work!

  • Brown and drain the meat
  • Add the softened cream cheese and tomatoes
  • Turn on low (if you’re early) or high (if you’re running late)
  • Let cook until everything is blended

My family loves this! We call it “Fromage Blanc” which is French for “white cheese” since there are some recipes that call for yellow cheese.

It should look similar to this once finished! I love to use the “On the Border” tortilla chips because they don’t break when dipping.

The trick is breakfast sausage! Most recipes similar to this call for ground beef or ground turkey. The breakfast sausage along with the cream cheese is the perfect combination of flavors.

If you try this – let me know how it works out! I know everyone will love it!
