I asked myself that exact same question when I first heard about Friendship Tea. Friendship Tea, sometimes called Russian Tea or Russian Friendship Tea, is a homemade tea mix blended together. You then give it as a gift. Friendship Tea is made with 5 simple ingredients, and the flavor is a delicious spiced orange!

  • ½ cup instant tea powder
  • ½ cup sweetened lemonade powder
  • 1 cup orange-flavored drink mix (e.g. Tang)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves

  1. In a large bowl, combine instant tea, lemonade powder, orange drink mix, cinnamon and clove. Mix well and store in an airtight container.

  2. To serve, Put 2 to 3 teaspoons of mix in a mug. Stir in 1 cup of boiling water. Adjust to taste.

Make this Friendship Tea into easy gifts by putting the mix into glass mason jars. Add a cute ribbon and a little tag! That is it!
