1. Blessing and a Curse: My Experience with a Semaglutide
I’m really skeptical about trends, but I kept researching the latest semaglutide weight-loss craze. I knew after studying about it, that I had to try it. I decided to give it a try with a local doctor. I have been on the semaglutide compound Ozempic since March 6. This drug has it’s perks like the weight/inches that I have lost, so far, but the curse is the side effects. Read more…
2. Dear Amber :: We Want Answers, Too
As a wife and mom, my heart is breaking for you and your children. This is every spouse’s worst nightmare. Many of us (or our spouses) travel for business, and we all get into the groove of being gone for a set amount of days and then anticipate returning home and going back to having all of our ducks in a row. To see a tragedy like this happen in my hometown is heartbreaking. Read more…
3. Broken Bow :: A Short 6 Hour Drive From Baton Rouge
Just a short six hours from Baton Rouge is a beautiful, stunning area called Broken Bow, OK. I know that when someone says Oklahoma, outside of singing the song, beauty may not be the first thought that comes to your head — so let me paint a picture. If the beauty alone isn’t enough to convince you to travel there, here’s a list of things to do from Hochatown to Broken Bow. Read more…
4. To the Parents of Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney
I have sobbed for you today. For the hollowness you felt when you were told your child wasn’t coming home today. For the icy numbness that has take over. I’ve wished I could protect your heart from all the things that are about to be said, to you, in the news. Your grief will be played out, used as a weapon. People will say heartless things and you will be there wishing people remembered you were human. That you child was a person! Read more…

6. Help!! I Looked at My Daughter’s Phone…
I have never snooped at her phone before, so this thought was new and definitely random for me. But my brain could not let go. Starting to stretch for my evening run, I kept marinating on the idea. So, I said a little prayer, asking God for His wisdom, and I felt an even stronger urge to put my secret agent hat on and figure out why I was so compelled to look. Read more…

10. Kindergarten Chapter 2: “Let’s Try That Again”
We were told by his school that he would not be going on to the 1st grade. The awards recognition program is in about two weeks, and I just want to curl up into my bed and cry. While there is no Kindergarten graduation at his school, his friends walking into 1st grade next year, while he walks back into a Kindergarten class, is a shot in the back – for me.
