Fall in Baton Rouge is the perfect time to get the kiddos outside and enjoy the crisp weather!

My dynamic duo, Jack and Jacob, can’t wait to dive into the season’s best activities.

Here are our top picks for fall fun in Baton Rouge with kids:

*Pumpkin Patches, Festivals, and More!*

  1. Miss Heather’s Pumpkin Patch: Pick out the perfect pumpkin, navigate the corn maze, and enjoy hayrides.
  2. Louisiana State Fair: Savor fried delights, watch pig racing, and explore the petting zoo.
  3. Fall Fest at the Baton Rouge Zoo: Trick-or-treat among the animals, enjoy spooky decorations, and take part in costume contests.
  4. Blueberry Bayou Festival: Live music, delicious food, and kids’ activities galore!
  5. Corn Maze at Oak Grove Community Park: Challenge your little ones to find their way out!

*Outdoor Adventures*

  1. BREC’s Fall Nature Walks: Explore Baton Rouge’s beautiful parks and nature trails.
  2. Kayaking on the Mississippi: Paddle down the river and spot local wildlife.
  3. Baton Rouge Bike Trails: Ride through scenic routes and enjoy the fall foliage.
  4. Visit the Botanic Garden: Discover the beautiful gardens and seasonal blooms.
  5. Playground fun at City-Brooks Community Park: Swing, slide, and climb to your heart’s content!

“Mom, can we go to the pumpkin patch NOW?” Jack asks for the millionth time. Jacob chimes in, “And can we get funnel cakes at the fair?” I smile, knowing we’re in for a season of unforgettable memories.

Grab your little ones and get ready for some fun in Baton Rouge! Don’t forget football!!

Melanie McHenry
Hi, I’m Melanie McHenry and the best thing I will ever do in my life is be the mom of Jack and Jacob. I don’t have all the answers, but I’m learning and trying to be better every single day. Thankfully, I have an incredible support system made up of my parents and friends who cheer me on and pick me up when I trip over life’s little surprises. I love adventures and I’m proud to say I have jumped out of a plane, traveled to Morocco, and collected plenty of stories along the way. When I’m not chasing experiences, I enjoy painting, writing, and volunteering whenever I get the chance. I even try to make it to the gym, though my abs would argue otherwise. I also have a few degrees (including my doctorate) from a few universities. My favorite colors change depending on the day (except orange that I hate), but one thing that never changes is my belief that everything should be celebrated with cake, including half birthdays. I love God and I thank Him every day for the many blessings in my life, especially the two little ones who call me Mom.
