Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Rotolo's Pizzeria. Pizza Night at Rotolo's :: Feeding Everybody in the Family Pizza. It may be the most versatile food out there. But not all pizza is created equally. As a working mom (and someone who loves delicious food), pizza is a frequent dinner choice. And when you ask my 7 year old what kind of pizza she wants, the answer is always Rotolo's.  Tonight was no exception, and our family of four met after camp and work for a delicious meal at the Perkins location in Baton Rouge. We have a new baby, so a lot of considerations go into when and where we eat at local restaurants. Often it means that my husband picks...
Calling all animal lovers! Do you have a heart for animals, but can’t commit long-term? Then volunteering to foster with Rescue Rehome Repeat is the perfect job for you!  Rescue Rehome Repeat of South LA is a non-profit organization that primarily rescues pediatric animals who may be abandoned on the streets, from high kill shelters, rabies control, or in some cases an unwanted litter surrendered by the owner. The organization primarily operates through a Facebook group in which volunteers can choose which animals they’d like to foster until adoption. The organization will post their animals on Petfinder, where the public can go online and see what animals are available for adoption, while also holding adoption events most weekends (see their Facebook...
It's hard to believe, but Red Stick Moms Blog was founded six years ago, in early Fall 2013, with the goal of providing moms in and around Baton Rouge with timely, relevant information and the chance to connect online and off. When we purchased Red Stick Moms Blog from its Founder in early 2016, we were excited to bring everything that we had learned as the owners of New Orleans Moms Blog to the Baton Rouge market with the same mission of being the premier parenting resource for Baton Rouge parents. We are humbled by the overwhelming support we have received over the years with our events such as Donuts with Santa, Moms Night Out, and the Easter Egg...
Disclosure :: This post is sponsored by Party Time of Baton Rouge. 8 Reasons to Attend Party Time's Summer Camp Kids Decorating Class I recently had the opportunity to take my four-year-old daughter on a surprise trip, just the two of us (rare in our family of six!) As we passed and ruled out our usual haunts, she became increasingly curious, particularly when we rolled up into the parking lot of our destination, which she had never before visited. Having overheard the GPS, she kept incorrectly referring to the store as "Bluebonnet." On the way in, I had to continuously correct her on the name, but by the time we left their Summer Camp Kids Decorating Class, she was repeatedly asking...

Sunday Driving

Family adventures don’t require airfare. Just a tank of gas and an open afternoon are all you need to experience new things with your family. It is not unusual for all four of us (husband, daughter, son and I) to get into our car on a Sunday afternoon, get to the end of our street, sit and ask the age old question: right or left? What started out as a way to just get out of the house and allow our kids to have a change in scenery (bonus points if they happened to take a nap) has become a way for us to find new adventures within driving distance from our house. We might end up in False River,...
