In the age of body inclusivity and self-love, why are we still facing a size inclusion issue?! It is not rocket science, and I’m sure I’m not the only mom who has had to embrace extra pounds since giving birth! There are so many reasons these days to have a little extra meat on our bones, and for some reason, even though designers have seemingly embraced a curvier body, many stores still aren’t carrying the size. It is so frustrating to get excited about a shirt or pair pants only to find they only go up to large or x- large. The question is why?! I do not want to order my clothes online all the time. If a buyer can...
I refer to myself as an 80's mom. My kids are young – 4 years and 19 months. I’m not sending them out into the neighborhood and not letting them back in until sunset, but I am attempting to instill some age-appropriate independence in them and teach them that low-key fun can be had every day. I am the default parent as my husband is working A LOT, and because of COVID, they can’t spend weekends away with extended family, having camp-outs and sleepovers with cousins. I have to find something for them to do. I’m not into extravagant activities, we don’t have the time for the day and weekend trips to lakes and beaches, and I don’t want them...
I am in no way a fashion/ beauty blogger kind of mom. Clothes (shoes) are my passion, but when it comes to makeup I just go with easy. However, I have found some products that have improved my skin and my confidence. #1. The Ordinary - High Spreadability face primer I am a little embarrassed to admit that before a month ago I never used a primer before applying my makeup -_-  but now that I have discovered it, I am a huge fan and my makeup is so much smoother.  $7.90 at Sephora  #2. ColourPop Eye Shadow Palettes  Over the years I have tried quite a few eye shadow palettes, but these by far are my favorite. Not only are the themes...
Besides the obvious apps like Instagram or Facebook, I have compiled a list of my top 5 most used and loved apps. From saving money on travel, taking your photos up a notch, to an app giving you pages of free workouts; this list is sure to give you something new to add to your phone's collection.   #1: SKIPLAGGED Since downloading this app years ago, I don’t think I have booked an airline ticket without checking here first. This app gives you a simple graph of the price trend for each airline ticket. Allowing you to know the best time, date, and airline to travel with. Skiplagged is different from other travel sites because it also gives you the option to “Fly...
Having painted nails is one of the few self-care indulgences that I've consistently participated in for years. There's something about having my nails done that makes me feel just a little bit sunnier. Occasionally I enjoy a mani/pedi with a girlfriend, but since having children, I can't really seem to find the time (or can't justify the cost) to take a trip to the nail salon. Most of the time I paint my nails at home and, fingers crossed, no one asks me for a snack before they're dry. During the COVID-19 quarantine, any type of self-care became pretty scarce. People are embracing their longest, gray locks, unmanicured brows, and trips to the nail salon ceased to exist for many,...
